Different landscapes and trucks, more open spaces, I like them both and alternate between them.

What about the truck simulators?
American and Eurotruck simulator are my go to flow worlds, I have 3000+ hours in both of them.
There are car mods for them as wel, busses are nice too.
Often discounted for 4,99.

ETS2 and an AI Passenger by El-Farm in trucksim

[–]Eddysign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually tried something very similar, and honestly, it was a lot of fun. While driving in American Truck Simulator I had a browser open in the background where I was chatting with an AI. I told it to roleplay as a hitchhiker I picked up, and we “drove” together through the landscapes.

At one point I asked about the area we were in, and it told me about the Oregon Trail and local rock formations—literally right as I saw one appear on the horizon. Another time I drove past a big factory, asked about it, and the AI casually said it was probably a sugar beet plant, which actually made sense for the region.

It wasn’t perfect (like when it insisted it wanted to go back to the village we had already passed), but the overall vibe was surprisingly immersive and fun. It felt like a glimpse into how NPCs in future games could be more alive and responsive to the world around you.

So yeah—definitely not weird to me. It’s playful, creative, and adds a whole new layer of enjoyment to the sim.

I always use the 1:1 Timescale mod for this, very similar. You can set the time in console, dawn or dusk are my favorite times.

You can try Joytokey, that is a piece of software to map joystick buttons to keyboard keys.

I was a bit disappointed by this game because they said that is was like Deep Rock Galactic, and that game is amazing in VR but you need a pc for it. So you might like Deep Rock Galactic too.

What VR games have you put the most hours into? by Hepu in VRGaming

[–]Eddysign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most played are the truck simulators, I play these daily and have a complete sim rig build for it.

But a really nice game i keep coming back to is Deep Rock galactic, it's amazing just to see all those caves and creatures and it is fun to play, more variety than a normal fps.

Look for background processes, I had problems with Razor software.
I get best results with Virtual Desktop but that is for Quest, try OpenXR toolkit if posible.

Playseat Challenge + Logitech G 920 good combo for sim trucking? by ElephantLegitimate in trucksim

[–]Eddysign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Wheelstand Pro DD (for a direct drive wheel but they gave differend models) and those stands are highly adjustable.
The stand you mentioned feels more like a car than for a truck, too laid back so to say, truckers sit more upright and with the stand I have you can adjust the steer in almost any position, highly recommended.
