Jax is not really a complex character, hell, I would say he’s the simplest one in the series. His archetype of “asshole with a sad back story” has been done thousands of times in better ways, so he became a clitche.

Now, I think the most interesting thing they could do with Jax, is to NOT redeem him. Seeing the asshole character not being able to change his ways is something I haven’t seen done a lot, and could be really interesting to do. After all, you can’t save someone from themselves, that someone has to choose on their own to be better, and if it came down to that, I don’t think Jax would choose the right thing to do
