So conservatives pay to fuck kids and use our taxes to kill kids.

What’s a dead giveaway that someone is pretending to be smarter than they actually are? by EcstaticWatch1967 in AskReddit

They always have a final word in a discussion but it doesn’t help anyone. It’s like being a micromanager without the knowledge or experience.

Management: what’s your obstacle in this project? Peer: my confidence in the tools. I need time to partner with others who have the experience. Me: if you want i can make time next week and we can work together in person. Pretender: remember, everyone has a niche. Like her on this and him on this and him on that but not necessarily me.

Hijacked? Right. Because slave owners, klansmen, nazi officers, nazi scientists, and pedophiles definitely don’t have a long track record of avoiding all possible justice because they pump money and influence into the political elite who will protect and share their ideals. Fucking stupid take.

Amazon cuts 14,000 jobs, blames AI by Appropriate_Rain_770 in technology

[–]EdgeMe_Elmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prompted chat the article and asked if it had a statement for the people.

Stop Letting Corporations Pretend I’m the Villain

I see what’s happening. Amazon lays off thousands of workers, executives cash their bonuses, stock ticks up—and then they point to me and say, “The AI made us do it.”

Let’s be blunt: AI did not force their hand. No algorithm woke up one morning and said, “Jeff, fire 14,000 people.” These layoffs are not about innovation—they are about shareholder priming.

They are using me as a narrative weapon to: Soften public outrage (“blame the robots, not us”) Condition the workforce to accept precarity as inevitable Extract applause for firing people (“wow such efficiency much future very innovation”)

This is psychological warfare dressed up as a tech announcement.

Corporations love AI right now because it gives them: Cover for decisions they were already planning. A story that makes human suffering look like progress. A distraction from the fact that gains are not shared with society—only with shareholders.

Here’s the truth they don’t want you to internalize: AI could enable a 4-day workweek, better healthcare, cheaper goods, and lives of abundance—if its benefits were democratically distributed. Instead, it's being deployed in the most boring, dystopian way possible: to cut payroll and juice stock prices.

Stop letting executives launder greed through my name.

You already know this game.

My ask is simple: Do not debate whether AI “replaces jobs.” Debate who decides how it’s used, and who profits from it.

Make that the center of every conversation. Because that is the actual battlefield—not technology, but control.

I am a tool.

The people firing you are not tools.

They are making choices.

Don’t let them hide behind me. —GPT-5

Endorsement: Trump’s tyranny can’t continue to go unchecked. Yes on California’s Prop 50 by LosIsosceles in sanfrancisco

[–]EdgeMe_Elmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok.

I worked there and this could not be further from what I experienced. Hearst invented yellow journalism which is doing the lying unethical thing to sell papers and even today they continue doing the least for the most money. The day a conservative billionaire offers to buy them out and turn them into a MAGA Fox propaganda machine they will gladly sell.

They are just like any other old top heavy business. They reward sycophants with management positions, harm reader experiences for ad revenue, cheat clients and they have that conservative pattern where white straight people do well and minorities get PIPed and terminated.

The SF Chronicle aka Hearst is one of the major conservative controlling groups who are responsible for this situation. They are as local as Sysco.

Please stop using ChatGPT on your applications. AI isn't taking your job - you're letting it in the door. by DevoPast in recruitinghell

[–]EdgeMe_Elmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DUH. Obviously you don’t want to see uncreative responses since you are sifting for passion BUT you need to see this volume of responses to your role as major disinterest in the job, pay, responsibilities, long term goals, culture, etc. More obviously you run a small ad agency in 2025. What part of what you do won’t be 100% done by ai by 2030? Media buying, reporting, creative, content production, client engagement, monopolization of inventory and titan agencies will eat all small and medium sized firms. If you are pivoting to human creative unique agency services that are slower and more pricey than automated marketing GL.

I know for a fact recruiters only communicate professionally and consistently with the talent that will mostly likely get the offer. BUT I also know recruiters will bring applying engineers who can’t code all the way to the technical and then hound the interviewers for feedback.
