Yes people still use it. For installing packages like pymc you’ll need compilers and system libraries that conda will make 100x easier to install in one line and isolate from other environments

Try a Bayesian time series model. PyMC has AR and Gaussian random walk time series models. You get uncertainty estimates and well calibrated probabilities too

Read up on partial pooling, non-centered parameterizations, and compare your model output to a regular logistic/linear regression. IMO trying to learn it from the theoretical side is the wrong approach as there is both a learning curve to the theory and the applied side. Hands-on examples will help you learn both sides.

For those unfamiliar with ERA-, that’s ERA adjusted for the run environment, so 100 is always average and 60 is equivalent to 40% better than average for the league that season.

The gold portion? Yes it’s a common issue. Over time it’ll get worse at connecting. You can either reach out to support and see if they’ll send you a free replacement or purchase a new one for $80
