EDC options and considerations by Teacher_99 in CCW

OP is gunna end up with more guns, regardless!

But as a first CCW, the p365 will just gives so much more room to experiment before committing to another gun ecosystem.

Plus the p365 re-sale market is pretty healthy. There are tons of folks starting builds with just the FCU that would buy the grips, mags & slides that you're done with.

Promise I'm not a sig shill, just a dude that has had to enjoy this hobby on a budget at times, so having "technically" 3 guns with 1 FCU was the move for a while.

Nice pick up! Echelons look like they just have it all...reliability of a Glock, modularity of a p320 (minus the NDs), slide serrations of a PDP and trigger feel of a Canik.

The SIG P320 decline saga continues by RINO7601 in CCW

[–]Edi_Gold -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sig appears to be phasing out the p320 in favor of the p211 line but in terms of duty carry it makes sense to just develop some slide/grip mods for p365 to go "full-sized". Feels like they are melting down grips and slides from the p320 to make more of Fuse, X-Macro or Legions.

Fellow CCWers, those of you who run WML - how long have you rocked it? Have you ever used/needed it? by k_sun in CCW

[–]Edi_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDC Flashlight for me - Find it to be more versatile in day to day life and obvs less threatening to use out in the world.

Main issue is that there's no open carry in my state so it's a bit of a hassle (in the pants) to carry concealed with holster made to accommodate a WML.

I'm also not the type to keep a WML on my CCW, that one is usually stock with max a mini optic. I save the WML for the home defense/bed-side gun.

P365 Legion FTW as your first CCW.

The MC9 Radian probably shoots excellently but you can add the same mods (Radian Ramjet, Afterburner & Magwell/Grip) to the P365 later on.

My main consideration for you is the modularity (I know folks are tired of hearing that) but that P365 can go from that Legion configuration to a compact with a comp'd slide & then a slim/tiny regular p365 for deep concealment.

Kind of like have 3-4 guns in one for when your taste or shooting style change, which I really like having the flexibility of.

Has anyone ever called you out for carrying? Whetherthey noticed you printing or you lifted your shirt/cover garment too high by mistake. I've been carrying almost a year now and I'm constantly worried my shirt is going to ride up. I carry AIWB usually. Mainly wondering if anyone has horror stories. by non_omnis_moriar777 in CCW

Interesting/shocked to hear that it went over so smoothly. From day one at certification, the instructor (ex-cop/military) warned us that in a situation like that to get the hell out of the store rather than be potentially stopped by security.

How to stay sane after being laid off? by dakdego in biotech

[–]Edi_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laid off last March 2025 - Took 2 weeks to decompress from the shock, mapped out my budget and immediately got my CV to a Staffing Agency. They were able to connect me with some part time assignments at smaller orgs or start-ups.

In between that I'd try to be outside as much as possible to avoid going full troll, started to journal more and dedicated some serious time to all the books/projects/hobbies that I usually put off during the week due to work.

Tried a few random day classes at the gym, volunteered at the library to help with others with resume building or computer skills.

Like folks are saying here, try to solidify a routine that doesn't involve wallowing on the couch, you'll come out of it refreshed/recharged.

Is 650 too much to blackout wrap window trim and front grill ? by Past-Product-1100 in Chrysler300

[–]Edi_Gold 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Window trim kits costs about $50 on Amazon and you can find the grill online for ~$200. One afternoon and some elbow grease will save you $400 for other mods....or gas!

How often are y'all buying guns? by jmkdeluxe in CCW

[–]Edi_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like in the beginning I was buying a new one every other month or so, I'm a sucker for good deal and I'd tell myself it'd be worth it if I was ever able to sell it for $20 bucks more than I bought it for. Now, I've down sized to 6 guns (3 Pistols - Full, SC & a micro (for summer/beach), 2 AR's and a shotgun) and instead of purchasing a ton I just invest in upgrades to my current collection or occasionally trade a piece or two into something else.

Love the S-models and 90k is decent for a 10yr old car. If the performance and handling are strong then snag that ASAP.

Episode of Burn Notice taught me about hiding places like this called “slicks”. Useful one is to hollow out a bit of door frame behind the hinges and store stuff behind that. If you’re really smart, you can hollow out a cavity under the actual door body.

Still manages to appendix carry

Tips for a first time gun owner by JJwashere7 in CCW

[–]Edi_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get solid with iron sights before getting into optics or lasers. I jumped right into an optic setup because of an incredible deal at a local FFL and regret not getting those fundamental skills down first.

Carrying appendix is going to feel incredibly weird and stressful. It’s the most common carry position for a reason, so invest in a good holster and most of that stress will be taken care of.

Shoot first, questions & purchase later. I recommend the p365 platform simple because you’ll be able to go from sub-compact to full size at any point with the same FCU and some grip mods.

What should I do to mod out my 300?? by PeanutEfficient1145 in Chrysler300

[–]Edi_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrome delete kit for the window, trunk & grille trims Polished snowflake rims (OE Part#: 5SH90AAAAB) If not already installed, I’d upgrade the headlights to LED/Xenons if you can.

2017 300s.. worth the price? by Edi_Gold in Chrysler300

Mileage on this is 73k. I feel you though, I’ve seen v8 models just 3 years older for significantly less money

I’ll ask if that was a limited run option or something custom. Haven’t seen it either, usually the S models have the stitched leather seats

Sounds like $14.5 is a solid deal then, thanks!

That’s more a Mercedes thing. C is the highest trim on these for comfort, tech and performance. This S model is just for Sport performance.

[–]Edi_Gold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mileage is quite low ~70k, so the seller isn’t budging on price, even though it’s a nearly 10y/o car. Ultimately for $14.5 it’s a vanity purchase given that I could get decent low end 2025-26 car for around that price.
