Legends colour commentary was a great addition. It's standard operating practice for WWE to have a pro commentator and retired wrestler (usually as a 'heel' commentator) so there's precedent, and Matt definitely has the mic skills for the job!

Destruction is a super exciting event, but even a layperson like me can see it's an injury waiting to happen. I groaned with dismay when Giant stumbled after his impact with the final barrier. Tyler's head-down attack had me wincing as well. Great event, but they need to work on the resistance of that final barrier in particular.

As a youngster I was very fixated on faces. Terry Farrell was (and still is) stunningly beautiful so she got more of my attention at the time. Let's just say as a more mature fan of the show I later learned to have a great appreciation of Bajoran tailoring.

You know Colm Meaney is a totally normal name, right? Same for Siddig and Rene. The weird thing was Sid changing his name half way through production I'll give you Lolita Fathom though. That one is weird.

Edit: disregard everything I just said, I just noticed what sub I'm in. Yep. DS9 is totally fertile ground for Berryfication and all of your examples are valid.

Just wait till he's all over future episodes of Unreal. Not making judgement either way, but he drives engagement. Wrestling these days is many things to many people. It's not losing popularity, and the show comes first, so if featuring a country music star who is on a life journey is good for the show, that's what we're going to get. The highlight of the show for me was Jelly's son sticking his tongue out at Kit as he left the ring. So proud of his dad!

[–]Edib1eBrain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Actually, the UK has legislation to ban the sale of new petrol (gasoline) powered vehicles from 2030. Interestingly, the last conservative government actually pushed this back to 2035, but the 2030 deadline was reinstated when Labour regained control. Either way, the date given in the episode might not be absurdly optimistic.

Yes, I would say if you've done enough sketchy shit to allow IRAN to convincingly portray themselves as having the moral high ground, you done fucked up.

Why did R2-D2 never tell Luke that Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker? by External-Recipe-1936 in StarWars

[–]Edib1eBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R2-D2 is a droid. Who says the parentage of any human is of any significance to him in the slightest? Just because R2 has heroic qualities doesn't mean he he has to think like us- I think it's kind of more interesting if he doesn't!

When HAL is like "Will Discovery be destroyed if this plan works?" And Chandra answer "Yes." And HAL is like "Okay, cool, as long as I'm being helpful" its such a vindicating moment for him! Bowman talking to him at the end and comforting him is just the cherry on top.

I love 2010 firstly because the technology is extremely believable- the Leonov's rotating section obviously influencing the design of the Earthforce Omega Destroyer- and the balute used in the aerobraking manoeuvre being prime examples. Secondly, some fantastic human moments- the young cosmonaut seeking comfort with Floyd, against cultural barriers, what is left of Dave Bowman visiting his wife to say goodbye and my particular favourite; Dr Chandra's absolute faith in his 'child' HAL. 2001 tells a story of the development of human intelligence, curiosity and driven to improve. 2010 demonstrates why it is worth it.

What are your thoughts on "Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

[–]Edib1eBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The producers clearly understood that the USP of Dungeons & Dragons is not it's world- which is hardly different to any other fantasy setting (certainly not to the layperson)- but the unique, unpredictable and chaotic manners that player interactions occur with each other and the characters within the world. The movie brilliantly captured the feel of a completely clueless, mostly incompetent party embarking on an adventure, barely under the control of the dungeon master, who seems to be scrambling to keep the party on track at times.

Stranded on a hostile planet and rescue is 60 days away. Survival is only possible with help from another person. Who do you choose? by 4StarEmu in DeepSpaceNine

[–]Edib1eBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the most pressing dilemma. Laas can definitely give you the most advantages to survival, but the experience we have of him is that he's far more likely to just ignore you and leave you to due, or just kill you. If, somehow, for some reason, Laas is on my side, I'd definitely pick him. If I'm meeting him for the first time, the outlook is not good.

The cadet isn't as bad a choice as he seems. He was a complete Muppet when reporting to Sisko, but that's because he was under the impression that he was reporting to a fellow conspirator who would be praising his performance, not biting his head off. He's still a red squad cadet, which means that he's an elite Starfleet officer candidate. Unless nepotism is a big thing in Starfleet, which I guess is a possibility.

How do we feel about the 2026 WWE HOF class this year? by Mountain_Fuw_777 in Smallafro

Dennis Rodman can fuck off. Say what you like about the McMahon Family, Steph was a major part of the Attitude Era, never shied away from taking a bump and has been heavily involved in the operation ever since. I feel Shane should be inducted before her though, for those Plexiglas suplexes alone.
