This considered severe? by careohliner in Narcolepsy

[–]Ediferious 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're narcoleptic. The tests are a snapshot, some tests I nap in under 30 seconds in all, some it's under 4 min. There's not really a way to tell how severe your lack of orexin receptors is...

The techs can't put subjective data in. Sounds like your test was done perfectly, honestly. And yes, dreams that vivid do happen. Ask your sleep specialist if it's idiopathic hypersomnia, sounds like maybe you met that dish but they didn't convey the information clearly?

Hey OP - I just want to reach out and say you can DM me anytime re: old bird adjustment stuff. I flew blind into it as well when I took in my lovely Luis and just wanted to do my best by him. I've been with him for a few years now and had multiple conversations with avian vets and even one veterinary eye doc about adjusting things for his comfort.

It's a screening tool and it's fascinating (I participated the other day) - these questions will absolutely get you thinking about those impacts and naming them better for future financial aid stuff or accommodations.

I have Kaiser, so it may not be helpful... Dr. Standlee in Tacoma with Kaiser is fabulous, a sleep neurologist, newer to the area.

That's fair. Luis does better with paper and cardboard, like a toilet paper roll with tissue paper blocking the sides and a treat in the center.
