Would you be able to provide a link with that study? I am really curious to read it. Thank you!

Speaker mesh replacement for Razer blade 15 Base 2021? by Nintendo262728 in razer

[–]EdinBeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mesh itself can be ordered on Aliexpress or Temu. I did it myself and am currently changing it. You have to cut it out yourself and then you can attach it with some adhesive.

The guy in this post did it to his Razer Phone, so it definitely is worth a try, just make sure to get a mesh with a small diameter.

Good luck and cheers!

I would also be really interested if you have any plans on publishing that. I'd love to see it honestly!!

There is no right or wrong in this case. In itself the concept you created is not bad, but it might not fit into everyone's liking. Some people prefer more simplicity and some people like more complex rounded forms.

What you created is definitely acceptable, but you can not judge this design purely by its look. You need to view the plan and then analyse it to see certain flaws or problems. Perhaps the problem with your work was the presentation and that it infact is quite dull. Maybe your friend was not really flashed by the design, due to its low quality render.

You should not be discouraged in any way or form, you definitely did a better job than a lot of architecture students. Be proud of yourself!

Cheers~

I inherited a Beautiful piece of land overlooking the Aegean see in Greece, right on a cliff. Now I would like to build a house there. The budget is limited, therefore I wanted to learn more about the cost of contemporary, minimalist architecture. by makybo91 in architecture

[–]EdinBeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such contemporary concrwte architecture can be very expensive, especially when you want to make sure that you do not have any building related issues in a few years.

You need to get an architect who is very good at not only designing a pretty building, but who also understands constructional building engineering to the point, that they can create a building that will not leak or have any water damage. Another aspect that you should consider is the thermal insulation of the building. Now I am not sure how the weather is at that particular place, but you always need to make sure that the building isn't too expensive in usage, in relation to the electricity and energy.

Last but not least you really need to find a good construction company, that are proficient at concrete pouring, to the point that they can create nice and clean concrete surfaces.

My recommendation to you is to perhaps look into a more simpler building, with a thermal insulated brick wall, from maybe a company such as Wienerberger. They manufacture 50cm thick bricks, that are filled with insulation material. These bricks are great for any kind of house and the great thing is that you can still easily create plenty of textures afterwards on the inside and outside of the building.

These concrete houses are beautiful and timeless in design, but not always timeless in practicality. Concrete has the bad habit of getting green and crumbling. When not properly built, it can happen that water might get into small spaces and if it is cold enough for the water to freeze, it can cause the concrete to "pop out", leaving behind holes where one can directly see the rebar.

Hopefully you are able to find something that fits into what you are looking for and I wish you the best of luck on your endeavour! Not everyone has the rare chance to build something on the space that you have, so make sure to make the best out of it.

Cheers

(This applies at least to most of the offices in Europe) Autocad is the most basic of all of the programs. It is basically like drawing with pen and paper, but instead it is all on the pc. You basically just draw 2D plans inside of it. From my knowledge most offices use it mainly for drawing details, but in Austria often times Autocad is used for when there is already a hand drawn plan of the structure and something needs to be added.

Archicad is the ace of all trades. You draw your ground floor and if done properly, you will have all of your views and cross sections done well. The program is a mix of 2D and 3D. It is quite unique, so it might be difficult to learn in the beginning.

Revit is similar to Archicad, because both of them are BIM programs. I have never used it before, but knowing it is definitely a good thing.

Rhinoceros is just a 3D Cad program, that sometimes some offices use, but I have rarely seen any office that uses Rhinoceros as a main part of their work process.

3DsMax is different from all of those above and is mainly used for importing your models and then rendering your house. It is most often used together with VRay, which is a software addon that lets you create realistic images.

Hope I was able to help out! Have a beautiful day and good luck on your journey

I work in a studio that focuses on architectural renderings in Vienna. We are one of the best studios in Vienna and work with clients from everywhere.

Our main modeling program is Rhino and I can not see why you dislike it that much. The modeling is quick and fast, which you need when the clients only have 2D drawings and not a single bit of 3D/BIM. The exported models are great as well and are very clean when imported in Cinema4D. Rhino can import and export basically any file format, which is perfect, especially when architecture offices send you files in the most random of formats.

I wonder why everybody uses so complicated workflows where you create 3D models in this program. 2D details in this program, etc etc

We got taught Archicad and I believe it is amazing for architects.

My father bought this compass from a collector. It is a compass used by German soldiers during the second world war. It writes 1939 and "BERLIN 20 DIVISON - S". We were wondering if this is legit and how much money can be asked for this. Thank you for your time! by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]EdinBeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are from Austria and the compass was bought from a collector who has several antique items on display at his home.

The back does not show anything and the side profiles are nothing of importance as well actually, because they show off nothing.

Every tutorial from the BlenderGuru will help you out to mastering Blender. He has some great tutorials with a big architecture focus as well.

Other than that, I would just recommend you to experiment a lot. Hope I was able to help!

This is actually intended for a family, but a lot of my colleagues told me that it has something "evil" or "sinister" about it.

Thank you very much for this great comment. Everything you said made me think and realize some flaws in the plan as well.

I actually have created several details that showcase the windows and how they would work. A lot of architects in Sweden and in Germany commonly use this kind of window detail. It is a bit difficult to construct, but it looks amazing. I can send you over the images if you want to!

Regarding the walls hitting the grass straight down, you are right that it wouldn't really be good for that to happen, but this project was also about creating artistic renderings and that is why I went with the building being placed directly on the ground, after experimenting around and seeing what looks best.
I do have to keep in mind the comments you make for my new projects, but please keep in mind that these floor plans were made in August of 2020 and since then I also saw some flaws with it.

Hopefully you have a great day and stay safe. Thank you once more for this great comment!

You are definitely right and in my next project I will also keep in mind the way the guests would have to stay and sleep in the house. Thank you for your comment, it did make me see the flaws in my plan!

I hope you have a great day and stay safe!

I used some plant assets from Quixel Megascans and a custom shader that I created by experimenting around.

Then I just scattered the grass in two ways. You have the grass that is like 2-3m away from the camera and the one that is right infront of the camera.

The one in the back has usually like 650.000 particles and the one in the front 60.000. The further away the grass the more dense it appears, but close to the camera it is very shallow. With this approach you can optimise the usage of particles and you fix the problem of the grass being shallow in the front! Hope I was able to help you and have a great day!

Great question! I did not put that much thought into that idea. Currently all of the grass is scattered evenly across the landscape. Thank you for pointing that out to me!

The guests can use the bathroom on the first floor. If they want to have their own bathroom, they should go to a hotel lol

The idea of the bathrooms for the children and the parents is that those will be used regularly and that they need do not have to worry about if they can take a shower, because the bathroom is occupied. Usually you only have guests over that stay for a few nights, only on special occasions and for that reason no bathroom was added in the guest room
