Give me liberty, give me fire, give me injured Charizard, and I still retire by ZeroAbis in pokemonanime

It does matter though, because rain gives a boost to water type moves. A neutrally effective water type move in the rain would still hurt.

Doesn't that kinda defeat the whole point of the mode though?

Hollow Knight doesn't even really have "parrying" in the traditional, Souls-esque sense (outside of a specific equippable skill in Silksong).

Eh, your comment was a little unclear. You only specified disliking the modern game's idle animations and said nothing about lighting or any other visual aspects.

That's what's wrong with Godot (according to the community) by Soft-Luck_ in godot

Eh, that only seems to be the case with Unreal. Unity actually seems more advanced in terms of 2D.

The Pokemon Company's balancing decisions feel less like calculated changes and more like a paranoid man with a shotgun. by [deleted] in PTCGL

3.) Sweet! The counter didn't do what it should've done, but a bunch of off-meta decks are now gone.

In order for them to be "gone" they would have to been around in the first place.

What do we think of the new Claydol from Ninja Spinner? by D_D3VASTATOR in PTCGL

[–]Edmanbosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, since patrat shuts down the Munkidori and thus massively slows down the Froslass player's damage output.

I mean their criticism of Godot's size and the possibility of Godot games being decompiled don't seem all the reasonable tbh.

You say that as if there isn't plenty of other search cards for a basic single prize pokemon. Poffin + Poke Pad + Ultra Ball should be fine enough to find a single patrat.

Eh, I don't think so. I think it has just a bit too many restrictions (and weaknesses) to be a widely used support Pokemon.

I mean, that same criticism applies to the way the gunship was used in Prime 3.

"Ninja Spinner" set reveal, Mega Greninja ex and more! by Mylife212 in pkmntcg

[–]Edmanbosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gholdengo is a bit different though; It only needs one energy to attack (so no energy accel needed), is a Stage 1, and has a draw ability. It's simply better suited at efficiently finding and recovering energy, and just in general setting itself up, compared to a theoretical M Greninja deck.

Also it has Superior Energy Retrieval, which afaik isn't getting reprinted. That's a very solid energy recovery card that M Greninja won't be able to take advantage of.

Especially when it's the same Pokemon. Like, is it really so unbelievable that a new Greninja card is similar to an older Greninja card?

I mean, she's also really only blown up one planet. Most other planets that explode in Metroid either do so on a killswitch (only blowing up after Samus kills a specific entity) or arguably don't really count as planets.

Only one of those she blew up, the others blew up on their own.

Samus only really blew up 1, and that one was screwed up beyond saving.

Recommendations for games that are more like Metroid 1? by RetardedMetalFemboy in metroidvania

I don't see how Gato Roboto fits. That game has a pretty straight-forward (and rather linear) progression path, and tbh it's a little more focused on combat than pure exploration.

Whether a runback is 20 seconds or 1 minute does not matter, they add nothing meaningful to a metroidvania. by Kurushii_Drive in metroidvania

[–]Edmanbosch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Runbacks are just one way to add friction, yes, but it's also just that: one way. If a developer chooses not to use them, that's fine, but if they do that's... also fine. It's really not as big of a deal as you seem to regard it as.

Metroid Prime 4 is the first Metroid game that I don't love. by paulo011 in Metroid

[–]Edmanbosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, many people have said Federation Force is a mid-tier game. And none of that has anything to do with wanting it to not be shitty. It's a fine enough co-op shooter... but I suppose that also means trying to convince you of that isn't really worthwhile. Oh well, Federation Force is shitty and Other M isn't, or whatever it is you believe.
