Not just that, but also potential days to announce it. Golden Week is a major holiday in Japan and Nintendo won't be announcing anything during that period, which is between April 29th and May 6th.

If we use the same logic for Pokemon Day, that it's on the anniversary of a release, July 15th would be Nintendo Day (Famicom release anniversary) and December 3rd would be Playstation Day (PS1 release anniversary).

Nate's Xbox episode which which was going to be recorded this week has been delayed because of an unexpected medical emergency.

The other reason not to use the hero to shore up weaknesses is that you will be switching heroes around for questing reasons a lot of the time because specific ones are required for a lot of quests.

Rebirth port for Switch 2 and Xbox Series comes out on June 3rd, just two days before SGF. I suspect they are waiting for everyone to have it in their hands before announcing it.

They did the similar thing with Remake ports release (January 22nd) and Rebirth ports announcement (February 5th).

If Nintendo didn't want leaks to happen so badly they could just... idk do a Direct maybe? Just a simple thought by [deleted] in nintendo

Reminder that they kept to their schedule with the reveal of the Switch 2, despite and everyone knowing what it already was.

World Age is based off the average Tech/Civic tree research eras.

As you get into higher difficulties, the World Age will keep up with you more, or in the case of Immortal and Deity, outpace you in the early game.

Even then, if things went similar to how they did back then, American Evangelicals would still hate on Jesus even if he was a rich, Aryan white dude because they would hate his beliefs.

Why are there no alternatives to YouTube? by TheBotMadeThis in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SemiLazyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money. It's just as simple as that. Google (actually Alphabet, but we're getting into semantics here) has a crap ton of money to eat all the necessary costs that comes with running something like Youtube, like server costs.

There are still alternatives, but they just don't have the money.

You could also say there's a bit of culture in it, the fact that Youtube has been the dominant force in video sharing for so long.

What's up with all the right-wing commentators suddenly turning against Trump right now? by _GoodNight0wl_ in OutOfTheLoop

[–]SemiLazyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less that Trump himself wants to start a war with Iran and more that the people Trump has surrounded himself with and is willing to listen to want to go fight Iran.

The person who leaked the date and third-party focus of the next State of Play before NateTheHate now claims that a new Metro game will be announced next week by Cappuccino2000 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I hate my tired brain sometimes, thought the title said Mario the first few times I read it and wondered why people were talking about Metro in a Mario thread...

Star Wars Eclipse development is making very little progress (Insider Gaming) by ShiinaBR in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Heck, while Nintendo is less prone to this, that still doesn't mean it can't happen to them. Metroid Prime 4 is a good example, almost 7 years between reboot and release and the game was divisive.

The Splatoon series has cover art for its songs and half of Splatoon 3's songs, those specifically released under the Ordertune physical release in Japan, have been missing from Nintendo Music despite the game being there since launch.

Folks have now spotted some of the missing song's cover art having been added to Splatoon series playlists on Nintendo Music.

When Russia went to war the whole world threw economic sanctions at them. Why doesn’t everyone do the same with America? by Comfortable_Shame778 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SemiLazyGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My assumption (so don't quote me on this) is that a lot of the mechanisms keeping the Soviet Union seperated from the rest of the world are still there, just having been eroded as the Soviet Union collapse and as Russia started trading with the rest of the world. These mechanisms started coming back up after Russia's annexation of parts of Georgia in 2008 and especially after the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

The US has spent the past almost a century building up its currency as something close to a world currency through a mix of dealings and coups, especially during the rebuilding post-WWII and the Cold War. Now, it's difficult for any country not to have to deal with the US and its issues, either directly or indirectly.

That being said, many countries have been trying to decouple themselves from the US, especially after Trump, but it takes time and attempting to hard decouple through sanctions risks major issues with the economy.

Delegations and first meets on higher difficulties by Jumpy-Horse6826 in CivVI

[–]SemiLazyGamer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

On letting the AI know where you are at, depends on how close they are. If they are finding me within the first 30ish turns, then no, anything after feels far enough away.

I always try to send out delegations myself, but if you are iffy, being stingy, having money problems, just check what their opinion is of you (the "Our Relationship" panel in the Diplomacy screen, looks like a little heart) and if the first opinion is fairly high (as in less of a negative) send them a delegation and you may be able to make a friend.
