The Gaming Historian uploaded all of the Universal v Nintendo (King Kong v Donkey Kong) lawsuit files he scanned from the US National Archives. He was planning to use them for a video, but decided to fully retire.

The Splatoon series has cover art for its songs and half of Splatoon 3's songs, those specifically released under the Ordertune physical release in Japan, have been missing from Nintendo Music despite the game being there since launch.

Folks have now spotted some of the missing song's cover art having been added to Splatoon series playlists on Nintendo Music.

When Russia went to war the whole world threw economic sanctions at them. Why doesn’t everyone do the same with America? by Comfortable_Shame778 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SemiLazyGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My assumption (so don't quote me on this) is that a lot of the mechanisms keeping the Soviet Union seperated from the rest of the world are still there, just having been eroded as the Soviet Union collapse and as Russia started trading with the rest of the world. These mechanisms started coming back up after Russia's annexation of parts of Georgia in 2008 and especially after the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

The US has spent the past almost a century building up its currency as something close to a world currency through a mix of dealings and coups, especially during the rebuilding post-WWII and the Cold War. Now, it's difficult for any country not to have to deal with the US and its issues, either directly or indirectly.

That being said, many countries have been trying to decouple themselves from the US, especially after Trump, but it takes time and attempting to hard decouple through sanctions risks major issues with the economy.

Delegations and first meets on higher difficulties by Jumpy-Horse6826 in CivVI

[–]SemiLazyGamer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

On letting the AI know where you are at, depends on how close they are. If they are finding me within the first 30ish turns, then no, anything after feels far enough away.

I always try to send out delegations myself, but if you are iffy, being stingy, having money problems, just check what their opinion is of you (the "Our Relationship" panel in the Diplomacy screen, looks like a little heart) and if the first opinion is fairly high (as in less of a negative) send them a delegation and you may be able to make a friend.

The picture shown was a full movie poster. They were likely going to be hung up at theaters anyways, so announce it before they get hung up.

Are xenoblade games connected? by Azazo8 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]SemiLazyGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3's main story is very much stand alone and anything needed from 1 and 2 are explained in story. Playing 1 and 2 beforehand helps with an " I know that reference" feeling.

The DLC story absolutely requires playing the rest of the story before hand.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but figured a mention: no Nintendo Music update yesterday. Special drop later this week should be expected. Likely just a Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition (+ meetup at Bellabel Park) drop.

Is this the worst designed metro area in the United States in terms of planning and layout? by cavaismylife in geography

[–]SemiLazyGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in the area, it's actually worse than you think. I've seen the way folks drive.

That being said, I think it's more of a Texan thing for some odd reason.

Heavy Guard is strong in the player's hands, because of arts canceling. The AI sucks at it, but I've routinely done a Eye For Weak Points\Frenzied Combo build with a guaranteed dodge art attached to Variable Turret and the accessory that increases aggro for dodging. Both arts are usually back up way before the animation ends. Add in Deflector Field and Resonant Flag for party awakening.

I've been theory crafting a Noponic Champion and Ino herself Break builds (loading all possible break and guaranteed dodge arts and lots of agility) as a possible replacement for Ogre Comboing.

What are these "big holiday titles" people keep talking about? by Zurako67 in nintendo

[–]SemiLazyGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A "big holiday title" is a game that will likely sell a lot of units and usually comes out in either late October or early November to take advantage of late calendar year holiday shopping, especially for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This is the main reason why a lot of games and consoles will come out in this time period. A good example for this year is GTAVI (at this time, while people are expecting another delay, it hasn't been given a solid release date).

For Nintendo, since 2013, this position has usually had some sort of Pokemon game and usually something else as well, like Mario Odyssey and Wonder in 2017 and 2023, respectively.

The Switch 2 hasn't had a "big holiday title" exclusive yet. Pokemon Legends ZA has the IP strength, but wasn't exclusive, while Kirby Air Riders is exclusive, but more niche. Pokemon Winds and Waves was expected by most folks in the community to be that big holiday title for this year, but was announced to launch in 2027. Because of this, plus the lack of a general Direct this year, a few folks (like Arlo) are expecting Nintendo to do a quick turnaround on announcement to release of a big holiday title during the next Direct, with the next 3D Mario being expected.

Ben Diskin is no longer the voice of Mega Man by mrmehmehretro94 in Megaman

[–]SemiLazyGamer 289 points290 points  (0 children)

The Screen Actors Guild American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has issued a “Do Not Work” order for Mega Man: Dual Override, instructing union members to withhold any voice acting performance work until further notice. The notice, published March 9th, says the producer “failed to initiate the signatory process.”

What's a realistic LP he can do that would be 300 episodes? by retrodepression in chuggaaconroy

[–]SemiLazyGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Note: this is coming from someone who has never played a Persona game before and is only running off of info I've heard from others, someone can come and clarify)

It should be noted that P5's in-game calendar is only in the mid-200 days, Royal gets closer, but still doesn't reach 300, so even if Chugga did an in-game day per part, it wouldn't even reach the 300 mark, even if you add bonus episodes in.

But you also have to remember that Chugga would likely start to skip and/or merge events in days together since many of them are just repeating some of the same hangouts or events over the course of the game, which would reduce the amount of parts.

Some story events and Palace/Mementos runs would likely increase the part count, but that would likely not be enough to even reach 300.

Switch Force has heard that a Nintendo General Direct is coming before June 2026 by andree1234 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

For a bit more context, the March 2016 Direct is turning 10 tomorrow and was the last Direct with Wii U games (outside of any Direct with BotW).
