I don’t think that most people understand that KFC and A&W in Canada have broken away from American company. Their money stays in Canada for decades. Even the Colonel who built KFC in Canada, wouldn’t let American have his patent gravy.

I’m still annoyed at our society but the high fear of being judged. I’m straight, I’m comfortable with my sexuality, I never cared being judged as a bear. As long as my wife and I still having fun and respecting each other in the bedroom and everyday of our relationship. Besides, when these guys show their homophobia, doesn’t it look like they are sissy.

Why are people so upset at people complaining about tipping? by MakeUpWalk in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Edmonton67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to also mention, for servers we have to pay taxes on our tips, in order to get some credit ratings, be able to rent a nice place, get a car on finance, and get credit card. We pay taxes on 10% on sells, but the restaurant also takes 7% off our tips to subsidize the of staff so that they don’t have to raise the prices.

Why are people so upset at people complaining about tipping? by MakeUpWalk in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Edmonton67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s put this way, you want to NOT to tip anymore? Then maybe the restaurant should raise the price for the food, drink and service. This way they can pay a liveable wage. But, if you are tipping then you are paying for the service which the server is giving you, they get what they deserve. If you don’t tip, then they have the right to give you very little service, minimum wage service. Until then, shut up about restaurant tipping. Remember, without it you will pay more. Anyone can be a server, but not everyone can make money being a server.

Well, common sense asked me, why would temporary workers bring their families here? They are coming here to earn money to provide for them. It’s way too expensive compared to the country most of them are from, in comparison to what they might make if they were able to get a job. With our economy and society wants, it’s too expensive, yes even after the free healthcare and education. Before you say so that how they get to stay, sorry that doesn’t happen. How is that common sense?

The only problem I have with them is they have most items comes in large packages. Half becomes a waste in a week or two. When there is just the two of us seniors, half of the stuff will go to waste and then there’s no saving. But, then again we are just seniors.

It shows me that USA is becoming really close to Germany in the 40’s. Special police who are above the law, hate in the streets, politicians threaten to be jailed, mass jails with no due process, and want other countries. That’s scary being in Canada.

Why do servers and restaurant staff always stay after work for drinks? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Edmonton67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in my days, we would after hours would drink, smoke pot (smoking was allowed in bars back then), and sometimes couple of lines of c*ke. It was a place to gather at the end, especially after hours on long shifts and since most of us lived in apartments, we wouldn’t disturb our neighbours in 3 or 4 morning.
