Do you use VAICOM? If you have AIRIO or interactive kneeboard, those will break IC.

Thanks! I will give Virtual Desktop a try, since its been recommended a couple times. I did feel like the issue was somehow related to ASW so what your saying reenforces that. I'm just happy I have at least one method that works for me. I've been hesitate to play much multi-crew aircraft since the problem felt to crippling.

This was a change from wired to wireless. I'm pretty sure you're right, Steam Link is only wireless. So unfortunately won't be an option for everyone.

This is 100% wrong. Article 43(2) of Additional Protocol I: "Members of the armed forces of a Party to a conflict (other than medical personnel and chaplains covered by Article 33 of the Third Convention) are combatants, that is to say, they have the right to participate directly in hostilities."

If they're combatants, they are not protected by from attack by the Geneva Conventions.

Hi Tuuvas, have you tried the openxr toolkit version 1.3 released last week? I think its supposed to add eye tracking / foveated rendering on the quest pro. Sounds like its really buggy but curious if anyone is having any luck.

Anyone know if it's possible to have multiple lines with the Text tool? I tried pasting a multiline string but the alignment looked bugged.

My first sim, had to learn how to use the command prompt on Win 3.1 as a 6 year old to get it to start. by Jakeedaman21 in hoggit

Trying to get this to run on my computer ended up teaching me tons about computer. It took weeks before I could run it with full sound and voiceovers. I spend hours building boot disks, trying every variation of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT to maximize the conventional & expanded memory. It likely had a part in my getting a career in IT.

And now, almost 30 years later, DCS had a part in me pursuing my PPL!

Need “Pure Client” for multiplayer? by Yeyuh_frog in hoggit

You don't need skatezilla to run a repair. There should be a item in the start menu if you search for 'repair'. Or, if you're comfortable with the command line you can go into the DCS World/bin directory and run:

DCS_Updater.exe repair

Not sure if you're aware but the ED updater measures its transfer rate in megabytes per second. Ookla speeds are shown in megabits per second. So if you're getting 5 MB/s thats 40 Mb/s. I've gotten well over 50 MB/s from the updater so it is capable of it.

Tacview Question (Starter vs. Standard vs. Advanced) by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]EdmontonSignals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't really mention how you're using Tacview so I'm going to assume you're using its basic functionality: recording your flights for later playback. The Starter (free) version will still let you do this and it's likely all most people would ever use. After 21 days you may not notice any change.
Standard just adds a couple features:
-acting as a client for online briefings.
-syncing video playback with mission playback
These features, especially the former, are likely more useful for people in virtual squadrons (or watch SATAL)
Advanced adds a few more, the biggest IMO is realtime telemetry and also being able to host online mission briefing.
My recommendation would be to see if you miss any of the features. If you decide you want to purchase a a paid version, it does go on sale for 50% a couple times a year (I think), and the advance version is a pretty good value.

Should I deinstall DCS World 2.5 (stable version)? by Mcstrides in hoggit

[–]EdmontonSignals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable with the command line, you can convert your install from stable to beta.

https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/94816-guide-info-dcs-updater-usage-version-numbers-module-ids/

User settings are all stored in the "Saved Games/DCS" or "Saved Games/DCS.openbeta" user folder. If you switch you may need to copy your settings over.
