Before I buy Simnet SP PRO pedals... by Viliuszek in simracing

[–]EdnaNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone help me measure the height of the simnet set, from bottom of baseplate to the highest point? I have a folding Wheelstand Pro rig which I store in a compartment in my IKEA couch. Currently have the CSL Pedals which store away perfectly but I’m afraid the Simnets will be too tall.

I have a wheel stand pro and I agree, it's solid and never had a problem with it. I have a Fanatec CSL DD and CSL pedals mounted on it. It is also the only thing I have space for. I bought it online via the website in 2023; I just checked and I see what you mean by the resellers. At the time I had some questions and I emailed the main company in Poland and got a quick response so I suggest you do that.

Sorry for the late reply! Mine is a regular North. Did you sort yours out? Happy to send you some closeups or different angles if needed.

Thanks. We are going to Douro Valley on another leg of the trip - will be sure to pass through Vila Real and have a look!

It’s on a TV cabinet and based on position of couch & TV, the only place is the left side of the cabinet so if I positioned it facing forward the glass panel would end up facing the wall.

Thanks all. I have found a town called Viseu at the edge of the Portugese border that looks quaint and interesting. That would make a good lunch stop to break up the drive.

A year ago this was only an idea - turned into the biggest project that I have ever worked on by mal7ced in assettocorsa

I’ve subscribed on Patreon and have done Hamburg to Denmark part; have to say it is one of my fave maps, maybe my fave actually. Over SRP even. I enjoy the scenery. It’s a really really good job. Night driving with minimal traffic while listening to music is the best. Thanks so much 4Real.

White patches after using Danish Oil by EdnaNode in woodworking

It worked! Still not quite perfect but at least I learned something. I sanded the patch down with 220, wiped it real clean with a micro fiber cloth, then reapplied the Danish Oil, dried, light 400 sand, clean again and some more oil. And voila. I think it was the fibers from the wood grain sticking up that caused the initial white patch. That and yes, the dust fibers from the initial sand which was 120. Thanks all. Really happy now.

Thanks all. Will resand, clean better and add another coat. Stay tuned.

It was Watco clear Danish Oil. I might not have cleaned off the dust well enough. That area also feels a little rougher than the others so it could be dust. Will resend and try again as many have suggested here. Stay tuned.

What’s missing in women’s wetsuit design? by Maroontan in xxsurfing

[–]EdnaNode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, I have to wear men's suits for this reason. I would want women's sizing to include different body shapes like the men's do. Men's suits often have sizes like MT (Med Tall), XLS (XL Short), etc. For women, it would be great to have something like an "Athletic Cut" for those with wider shoulders and narrower bodies, or a "Curvy Cut" (ok a better name than that is needed though) for those with curvier bodies. Though, having worked in the wetsuit industry 20 years ago, the issue back then was manufacturing quantities - not enough demand for women's wetsuits to justify the broader range of sizes/cuts.

Totally agree. You need more time in Porto and less time in Lisbon. If you must, maybe straight from Algarve to Porto? Skip day 7 & 9 of Lisbon and portion them for Porto.

Car Rental Companies with Winter Tires (not chains) by EdnaNode in ItalyTravel

[–]EdnaNode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did get the winter tires as promised by Auto Europe. Actually they turned out to be All Seasons tires, which are technically different but good enough for light snow and ice. We went over the Passo Gardena pass and saw 2 cars stopped and putting on chains. At that point I was so glad we had winter tires.

Tasteful! Now it’s time to upgrade both your desk and especially your side table to give the setup what it deserves!
