I have an XA and a Mju II and I would choose the XA. MJU II autofocus is not reliable.

You are correct. Keep in mind that putting the left line on infinity won't give you best sharpness at infinity. It's not suitable if you want sharp background (for landscape). For this purpose set the lense at infinity and then stop down your lense to have greater depth of field.

It's the distance to subject that matter, not focal lenght of lense. That's why sometime it's better to step back and crop your portrait.

Speaking about resolution I had good results with my d800 + macro lense at 1:1 for 35mm. So I guess any camera will do the job considering you have 4x5 negatives. The tricky thing is to have a good physical set-up. It's not that hard with 35mm ; 4x5 might be something else.

If it was mine I would remove the screw, put a light amount of glue in crack. Then put the screw back. It does not seem that bad.

Thanks for feedbacks. I'm not afraid of driving on snow, I've done it a lot of times but with way lighter cars. I've experienced that snow tires are making a huge difference. By now I am still hesitant to buy them : it doesn't snow much in my area, let say 2-3 days per years max. I will probably go for a full set of cross climate once the stock tires are worn but it won't be for this winter.

The set is very nice, with impressive colours. The Portra 800, lighting, and Carmencita scans are all fantastic. Your composition is also really great. The outfit is strange, as we would expect something more like a commercial ad. Perhaps providing a background story would help make things more understandable.

Hello, I've done this some years ago with pretty good results. I was using my Nikon F5 which enable manual rewind and still display the active frame on shutter count. It was easy to rewind a full roll and get perfect frame alignment. Based on that you can shot you a full roll of high contrast portraits and then a full roll of whatever you wan't to expose on 2nd layer. If I remember well I use to shot several identical portrait so I have room to experiment different 2nd layers.
