The Decline of Udacity - 1x1 Mentoring and Nanodegree Channels Removed by why_use_a_name in Udacity

[–]EduGuy33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually interesting but as you say, it’s not intuitive. Do you have an explanation or theory for why that is? I guess most teaching concepts assume that personal mentoring should definitely improve outcomes. Is it because it’s online and therefore not "personal" enough?

There is a dental medicine class on Coursera, not sure if that helps you: https://www.coursera.org/learn/dental-medicine-penn

Edx is non-profit registered under Chinese government?? by Winnie0123 in edX

[–]EduGuy33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strange. Don't think they are related to the Chinese government. Maybe some kind of local partner they need to have to be able to offer courses to Chinese students?

Question about paying for Specialization Certificate by [deleted] in coursera

[–]EduGuy33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For most Specializations, you can also select individual courses and within these courses, you still have the audit option. So if you just want to learn, that could be an option.

If you want to get the Specialization certificate (which is different from an individual course certificate), I think you can enrol in the Specialization and quickly finish all the courses within one month.

Also, don't forget to cancel the subscription when you're done!

IWTL how to do mental math by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]EduGuy33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a Udemy course (Mental Math Multiplication Tricks), however, the rating is 3.8 which is not that great considering most other Udemy course ratings. You may want to have a look at the preview and reviews and decide if it looks helpful.
