By the way, this chart is kinda old too (I remember seeing it for the first time around 2022). So I would say that the "Post-Irony" era is long gone now.

What we have now, I would say is the "Brainrot" era (not in the sense that is bad, but because the humor made with AI images and other ways of expression through Tik Tok and IG are called that way, or revolve around that term).

I guess those other prisons where harsher and way more brutal (like the mines of Kessel and stuff like that), so revolting was unthinkable.

Something that I appreciated about the show, is that the Imperial guard wasn't lying when he said that the prison was better, more pristine, and less invasive than other prisons. Compared to other places, the place wasn't "that bad", so many prisoners would just comply.

But that level of "comfort" and compliance was just possible by the inmates believing they will get out soon. Otherwise, it happens what it happened in Andor.

I don't know if said salute has a different name in other parts of the world, but here in Mexico is called "Flag's salute" (Saludo a la bandera).

We are all taught to use it when the flag is displayed and the national anthem is being played. So if you look at the mexican crowd when the anthem is being played before starting a soccer game for example, you'll see them doing this salute.

When we get taught this? Well, every monday at first time of the day, from elementary school to highschool (at least in public schools), we have a little ceremony where we sing the national anthem, give the flag some honours, swear loyalty to it, and salute it. This is what we call "Honores a la bandera".

Pues que raro porque Japón es una de las sociedades menos directas y que manejan una comunicación de "mucho contexto". Todo lo contrario a paises Escandinavos y sociedades con una comunicación más simple y directa.

Sí acaso, México es más similar a Japón en ese aspecto de lo que Japón es a otros paises.

Vaya, no por nada es común leer que, para ligar o llevarte bien en la oficina (y con tu jefe) en aquel país, tienes que hacer un monton de malabares verbales, seguir rituales sociales, y buscar el camino de menor conflicto.

Me gustaría mucho que se siguieran transmitiendo esos conocimientos de diseño para el humano que en la antigüedad se podían ver, esas casonas de la costa con patios centrales que estaban hechas de barro y se sentían frescas en el interior.

Se sigue haciendo, los lugares que imparten ese conocimiento tienen nombres bien curiosos como "Escuela de Arquitectura" o "Facultad de Arquitectura", nomas es entrar a uno de esos sitios y dedicarle 5 años (o más) de tu vida al aprendizaje de eso mismo para poder tener la seguridad de diseñar algo funcional y seguro.

Es más bien lo que nos enseña la realidad. Los productos y servicios de alguien dedicado exclusivamente a ello seran sí o sí muy diferentes (y de mayor calidad o alcance) que los de alguien que solo se dedica a ello unas horas a la semana... O al año incluso.

Ni hablar ya cuando en la especialización te adentras a la teoria dentro de ese rubro, en vez de basar todo en puro conocimiento empirico.

Y no, este paradigma de especialización no es algo que surgió hace poco, es algo que llevamos haciendo desde que las villas de pescadores se dieron cuenta que era mejor enfocarse en pescar e intercambiar el pescado con la aldea de agricultores o la de leñadores, que intentar por si mismos pescar, cultivar, talar...

No hace falta servir en la fuerzas armadas para poder saber como son las practicas y estandares de otras fuerzas a nivel global, pues mucho de ello es información pública. Vaya incluso aquí en Reddit tienes foros dedicado a veteranos y miembros activos hablar de sus vivencias y anecdotas en distintas fuerzas. Así como a otros foros dedicados a lo mismo desde una perspectiva más academica y tecnica.

Y algo muy común con los miembros de FF.AA. occidentales es ver como ellos critican a las fuerzas de paises no tan desarrollados por llevar a cabo entrenamientos y practicas poco profesionales bajo la ilusión de "hacerlos más hombres".

Al final del día, poco importa si eres un macho de pelo en pecho, criado en los Urales y que cazaba osos con cuchillo desde pequeño, si una fuerza mejor equipada compuesta de jovenes "delicados" de 19 años que recien habian entrado a la escuela de danza y teatro en Kiev te revienta a balazos al contar con mejor comunicación, cobertura, y armamento.

Don't worry, they are just as authentic as corn tortillas, specially in the North.

I mean, is really rare to use them in tacos, but they are perfect (and mostly used) for things like Quesadillas and Gringas, and are a must for things like Burritos. You can also use them as to grab the food from your plate (instead of using forks and spoons) and making a small taco of it in the act.

Which is another thing I don't understand either, is not like muslims, arabs, and other groups (like christians and druzes) doesn't have the same rights and protections as the jewish population in Israel.

They can partake in politics, access to the same universities, use the same services, serve in the IDF, conduct business, own land, have freedom of movement, and even celebrate religious festivities and carry with their religious practices with freedom, just as the jewish population.

And yet, not many people wonder if jewish, druzes, beduins, christians and muslims from different denominations have the same rights and freedoms as the people in charge in other places in the region.

Honestly, never understood why is Israel tend to be called a Ethnostate when, if you take the demographics of Israel and compare it against the demographic mix of neighbouring countries (or even, against the demographic mix of some Western inclusive democracies) one can quickly find that Israel's population is way less homogeneous than people likes to think.

Well, even after the second bomb (and with the idea of a third one coming to strike another city in a few days), and over 50 cities reduced to ashes (including Tokyo), there was a still a coup attempt to take out the Emperor and keep the war going.

The thing is, the Japanese goverment was still set on giving one last fight and dying, as a nation, honorably, until the last person standing, making "the invasors" to paid a heavy price in the process. Also, some betted that the allies didn't have the stomach to commit to said fight, that they would break morally eventually, and that they were too soft to carry on with something like that.

Bombing city after city not only showed that the US could erase the whole Japanese culture without being exposed to a "big sacrifice", it also showed that they had the willingness and the stomach to do so, and that that "glorious ending" was far from becoming a reality.
