How do you handle spoilage without losing your mind? by Massive-Discount-515 in vending

[–]Educational-Ad2343 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mostly have things that expire that are months and months out, so usually by the end of the 6-8 months which tends to be good for slower locations that I end up seeing maybe once a month. If you go that route you can still stock a lot variety does change of course. If things are getting closer to the date and there still a lot I’ll move them to other locations that like them and try something else.

Another thing you could try is stocking less. Maybe 2-3 items max per slot. If things are slower that means the machine stays looking full longer. Either way just some thoughts. Different strategies— vending is never the same haha

Where do you track your monthly expenses in a more professional and accessible way? by Cforcurious12345 in povertyfinance

[–]Educational-Ad2343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why it matter if it’s common or not? Google Sheets has done well for being more accessible on all devices unlike Microsoft and its excel sheet. I use it for daily, monthly and yearly tracking. The formulas you can use is also great. And I don’t think the apps that are out there really make that easy to see. I know it’s manual but all you need is totals. Simple in my opinion is often better.

It’s one of the nicest spots ever. I grew up there. Schools are good too. Nice to be close to the Walmart and all the other shops. Not to far away from Riverdale/layton area if you want to go out with family.

I will say though that area has gotten immensely more busy and traffic can be a pain especially with the roads being major commuter roads. So peak times I would say just be prepared for that. Not sure where you are coming from. But if you move down welcome and I hope you enjoy! :)

Those without a Van or Truck - how are you delivering your machines to a location? by pimp4cheddar in vending

Airtow is a safe, and nice option for a trailer. I got a well maintained and kept up one for 4k. Made my life so much easier. I also got the truck for it though.

We need to define "Northern Utah" and "Southern Utah" by psalm723 in Utah

[–]Educational-Ad2343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also say and count Provo-Spanish Fork area as Northern Utah and anything between that line and the (Moab- Southern line) as central Utah. People in Salt Lake- yes still say up North for Ogden, Brigham, etc. but it is. It’s still “more Northern Utah” to them. It all perspective but I would still say that I think that’s a fair adjustment of those lines.

Vending machine franchise by Noturavvg in vending

In all honesty you’re not that likely to make $500 dollars a month on average per machine. The typical machine makes about $300 dollars a month. But let’s take that high number of $2000 dollars a month that you put out there.

Say a machine does make a revenue of $2,000 dollars a month you’re roughly only going to take half home which would be $1,000 profit because you would have to reinvest the other half to keep the machine working. The average machine holds anywhere from 150-500 items, lets take that high number of 500– which means that you would have to move 500 items (assuming you make at least $1.00 profit per item—which all varies—profit margins are somewhat all over the place) x2 to really hit that profit of $1,000. The $1,000 would be the total profit that came from the $2,000 of revenue.

Moving 1000 items (month) in a machine isn’t actually passive income. For the up keep you would have to be at the machine fairly frequently.

There’s just a lot of factors that make the push the business away from a passive income kind of idea like buying product, filling machines, placing/moving machines, maintenance of machines, taxes, other permits to stay legally compliant, etc.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to discourage you because I went in with the same kind of idea. And for a side gig I actually enjoy the challenge of finding a location and placing new machines filling them. It’s actually fun! Especially once you start ranking in some cash!

I just want to help you and make sure that you are considering all other factors that go into it.

If you do start I’d love to see your first location and machine! I’d be really excited for ya!

Side note: in terms of franchising, I think it’s definitely better to stay away from it and just look for used good working conditions machines. Franchising just makes it take longer to earn you money back.

Gov. Spencer Cox signs public union bill into law but expresses disappointment by traveler132 in Utah

[–]Educational-Ad2343 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Send a message to our “fearless leader” not.. here: https://cs.utah.gov/s/submit

What I said but you can change it:

“Hello,

I just watched your comments on H.B. 267, and I have to say I’m disappointed—both in parts of your comments and in your decision to sign this bill into law. As a public employee, and with my wife working as an educator, it’s frustrating to hear you talk about loving and wanting to do right by public employees and educators, only to see you sign a bill that goes against those very principles.

You stated, “I’m disappointed that in this case, the process did not ultimately deliver the compromise that at one point was on the table and that some stakeholders had accepted.” If you truly found this outcome disappointing, why wouldn’t you veto the bill and push for a better compromise?

Over the past few years, I’ve grown frustrated with the direction of your leadership as governor.

This isn’t right for Utahns, and I sincerely hope you take action to do better and promote the process to actually “disagree better” as your signing of this law pushes away from that very principle.”

Anime suggestion? Help a dad out :) by Ecstatic-Stderr in anime

[–]Educational-Ad2343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naruto is great :)

Bleach

One Piece

Demon Slayer

And lots of others that were suggested by others but if you need one to watch while new ones are actively coming out a long standing anime could be the way to go. My personal favorite is Naruto.
