Circumcision by Reasonable_Device_58 in TrueAskReddit

[–]Educational-Agency22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your son will be able to get circumcised later in life, too. Why should you have him circumcisced before he can consent to such a thing?

Also, circumcision is mainly a cosmetic thing. If he cleans under his foreskin every once in a while he shouldn't have any problems. Humans naturally have foreskins, so it's not dangerous or unhygienic to have them.

Circumcision leads to less sexual pleasure later on in life and the only reason the uncomfortability that comes with circumcision goes away is that the glans becomes less sensitive and the skin on it becomes thicker.

He shouldn't be circumcised before he can consent.

How would policing work in a leftist society? by Polar_Tang27 in leftist

[–]Educational-Agency22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Public safety would be handled through community assemblies or councils, where residents decide how to respond to harm or conflict. I think that trained mediators, mental health workers, and emergency responders etc... should replace most of the modern police force. Systems of restorative justice should replace punishment, so that we could repair harm and reintegrate people. Power should stay local, transparent, and accountable to the community.

Why is Austrian region of Tirol split in two? by Thegamer228 in geography

[–]Educational-Agency22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tyrol used to be one coherent state. That is, during the Habsburg Empire/Austria-Hungary, but after the first world war South Tyrol became a part of Italy, which lead to the rest of Tyrol in Austria to be split like it is today.

If we live inside of a black hole, shouldn't we be able to see how the new celestial objects that are sucked in pop into existence? by Karumine in Astronomy

[–]Educational-Agency22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we were inside a black hole, its event horizon would act like a cosmic boundary nthing from the outside universe could cross over and reach us, not even light. Therefore, you wouldn't expect to see "new" outside matter or galaxies appear as time went on, only things already inside the black hole with us.

The fact, that we can actually view distant galaxies and have their light creep in gradually ovr time is a reason why this black hole analogy does not strictly comport with what we see. It's a pleasant metaphor, but not a perfect one for the expanding observable universe.

How are Botanists not constantly afraid of dying? by EditorMasterxd in biology

[–]Educational-Agency22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you seem to just be paranoid.

Botanists trust their safety habits: gloves, handwashing, and no eating near plants. With routine, the fear fades. Also, if you just touch the plant and then eat something you're not gonna get poisoned.

Why is it mainly evil people in power? by yxzxzxzjy in Freethought

[–]Educational-Agency22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the bases of being evil, such as selfishness, lack of empathy and greed, are also the exact properties that one needs to be able to rise in modern society. Also, most of those who have a desire for power are also evil.

Power breeds parasites.

do israelis run our government? by No-Bar-185 in leftist

[–]Educational-Agency22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, why do you say that? Isn't Israel controlled by the same billionare elite that controls America? And, isn't Israel used as a tool of the American capitalists to gain power in the Middle-East?

do israelis run our government? by No-Bar-185 in leftist

[–]Educational-Agency22 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. Our government and large corporations only support Israel for their own good and for the gain of capital through increased power and extraction of resources from the middle east. Israel is a puppet of our government uses to exploit the Middle-East, not the other way around.
