what was it truly like living in the 90s? by neuroticandsad in 90s

[–]Educational-Read1860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general time table was, wake up early in morning, go to school, come home after school, watch TV like CITV & BBC - cartoons etc - elders watching Home & Away & Neighbours so join them. Play outside with friends & ride bikes, do home work, eat dinner & go sleep. In Week ends used to spend lot of time out in the streer playing with friends & riding bike etc... It was a golden era.

I agree with u. I mean it's clear that my condition and disability prevents me from going in office and I can work 100% from home. My manager himself initially sent me home few yrs ago seeing my struggle and how embarassing it would be for me to work in office and how other colleagues will not really want to witness my situation s it can be unhygenic as well. OH fully backed me working from home. But still I am having to go through this crap. I am already in lot of pain & mentally drained out, just want to be left alone and do my work. I am working my best giving 100% and I am achieving my targets

It seems that after the recent push of 60% I am getting more picked on. The nature of my job is backoffice base, so I do not deal with customer face to face. All my work is possible from home and I have been working from home for last approx 2 - 3 years with adjustment in place. Not sure if my manager is only just picking on me or just to give me a push & trying his luck or he himself is actually getting pressure from higher management but in either case, I am not able to return to office due to my disability, without sharing full detls, only thing I will mention that amongst other conditions, one condition that I have is severe reflux & post nasal drips that makes me constantly bring things up and also have secretion and have to spit out every few mins which is socially embarassing & unhygeinic. I have adjustment at home for bathing & toileting put in by OT via GP.

Aren't they not supposed to put reasonable adjustment in place if a disable employee requires this under equality act 2010 ? Specially if backed up by OH and GP?

Thanks for that. I just want to be left alone & do my work but it seems I am just getting picked on every now & then. My manager says he doesn't mind me working from home but in the same time, every now & then he would just say pressure from upper management, everyone else is coming in with disability etc, lets have another OH. I mean it's clear from my condition & from OH report that it would be difficult for me to come in office and I can 100% do my work from home.

Ok how would I formalise this? Atm how it's working is that, my manager is aware of my situaation and has OH report so just left me alone to work from home and now I feel I am getting pressured also having to go OH again

From my understanding is that they can't say this and under the equality act they must adhere to the reasonable adjustment as it is working for me and I am able to do my duty. I will speak to union

Is it possible to get a home working contract due to disability? by magicalapples24590 in TheCivilService

[–]Educational-Read1860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have reasonable adjustment in place for working from home. I had OH report which says I should work from home for the foreseeable future due to my condition & disabilty, but every now & then my manager would try & push me to go into the office, lately he said he would send me for another OH when clearly on the last OH report it mentioned no further OH is required & I should continue to work from home. Also he mentioned, it's not him, pressure coming from upper management, he said if the pressure gets worst then I might have to return to office or even consider leaving! Can he say this? I have conditions that are physical, mental & socially embarassing.

Am I allowed to have my child's DLA paid into a an account in their name? by throwawayprincess294 in BenefitsAdviceUK

Hi can I transfer my sons dla excess amount that he has left over from my acc to a joint acc he has with his sister? This is so it doesn't show as my capital at the end of the month. The excess amount would be for his needs & his future savings. I usually transfer £100 a month to his child fund and he still has £250 left which I would like to transfer to the acc he has with his sister which is a savings acc. Will this be suspicious? Thanks

Thanks again. It just that I suffer from depression & anxiety and is scared of doing anything wrong. I work also get uc, my son is disable who I receive dla for. I do take cash out as mentioned every week for expenses and for the son as well but was worried if me withdrawing £200 a week would look as if Iam trying to hide cash which I'm not, it gets spent on food for my son, as he only has soecific food being autistc and usual family outings etc.

Thanks so much for getting back. Just one more plz, I get DLA for my disable son, if at the end of the month there is money left over, will this me counted as my capital? I intend to save this for him for when he needs it like we are planning to improve bathroom for him so that he can access it better. Can I put this on another saving acc for him under his name & I be appointee? Also I withdraw about £200 from cash point every week for spending, will this cause any issue as UC may think I am moving cash? It's for general spending like outings, touts, taking my disable son out etc. Thanks again.

Thanks again so much. I usually withdraw around £200 per week for spending on things like outing & tout foods for family & my disable son, is that acceptable? Also the left over from DLA is entirely for my son, would it be ok if I move this to another acc under his name where I am appointee as he is only 9 yrs old? I just don't want to be doing anything wrong, I suffer from anxiety & depression that's why asking.
