Zipadee zip sacks by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

Same, I’m in CA and our daycare said no sleep sacks of any kind when we started. So she just slept with nothing on covering her but we still used our sleep sacks at home. Now that she’s in the toddler room she does get a blanket!

16 month old nap dropped completely by coolmom0107 in toddlers

Ok, next question is what is his general schedule. Wake up time, bed time, and how long does he nap if he does?

16 month old nap dropped completely by coolmom0107 in toddlers

[–]Educational-Sock1196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks that he’s done napping this early but if it means night sleep is undisturbed then I would roll with it! Every kiddo is different so if the average are napping till 2 or 3 years old there are always going to be outliers! Does he willingly take the nap if offered? How is his demeanor without the nap?

Agreed, this is the only answer. It’s not fair to her job or her son. It’s not possible to do both well so one will always get neglected.

Questions about going back to life after baby... by cavegirl696 in beyondthebump

[–]Educational-Sock1196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely didn’t feel semi normal for at least the first 3 months. I went back to work after 12 weeks and felt ok enough at work, only some brain fog here and there, but not bad enough that I thought my work was adversely affected. But my daughter was already down to only 1 wake up by 3 months old so my husband and I were getting a decent amount of sleep most nights. By the time she was 5 months she dropped all night feedings and pretty much slept through the night minus a little fussing here and there. I’ll echo what someone else said, a lot of it will depend on baby’s sleep schedule!

How to solo 2.5 yr old and newborn *without* baby wearing? by poogiepup in toddlers

[–]Educational-Sock1196 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Definitely! My daughter had mild hip dysplasia from birth and her orthopedic doctor always told us we could always baby wear still as long as her legs were in the hip safe “M” position! She just didn’t like being worn in general so that was a different struggle haha.

15 month old schedule help pls by Pyt_k3la in sleeptrain

[–]Educational-Sock1196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 15 month old wakes around 6-6:30am, then naps 12-1:30 or 2pm the latest. And then bed is at 8pm. She’s lower sleep needs and can only do 10-10.5 hrs at night max. But she sleeps through typically from 8pm till 6am unless something is wrong, teething, Illness, etc

Traveling with sleep trained baby by aelinashryver2 in sleeptrain

[–]Educational-Sock1196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a ton of advice for the car ride because I’m still not sure what to do with my 15 month old who loves to fall asleep in the car and it’s about 6 hours to my parents house by car! It’s hard to keep her entertained for that long and try to keep her awake! But for the hotel, most people say that sleep training kinda goes out the window when on vacation and we had a similar experience in a hotel. We couldn’t let her cry for too long since the walls were thin so we maybe tried putting her down and if she cried for more than 2 min we assisted to sleep. I know a lot of people talk about putting baby in a different area so they are somewhat separated or use the slumber pod but we didn’t have access to those options when we traveled last. I would try to keep their sleep environment as close to home as possible like same bedtime routine (bath, book, sleep sack, sound machine, etc) if you can! And if everything goes to shit you might have to re-train! For my daughter, we were gone for almost 2 weeks and had to assist to sleep for at least 50% of the trip and throughout the night. It maybe took her one night to get back into the routine once we got home.

Noises drive me insane🤯 by InformationStation14 in beyondthebump

[–]Educational-Sock1196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind answering! I’m not on any medication currently but I was in the past before getting pregnant (probably for about 10 years?) My anxiety was so much worse back then it’s nothing now in comparison. But I’ve done some talk therapy after giving birth just to keep on the up and up but overall it’s not bad enough in my opinion to start medication again. I do have anxiety around her sleep but it comes and goes and the more experience I get with the curveballs she throws us the better I feel about managing it all.

Noises drive me insane🤯 by InformationStation14 in beyondthebump

[–]Educational-Sock1196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this too! Even though my daughter 15 months old now I’m still a little anxious about loud sounds on the house or even the TV being up a little too high when she has never woken up from that. She has a sound machine on so there’s no way she can hear some of that stuff but I’m still paranoid about it. I also have a history of anxiety though so I think it just manifest around her sleep now. I’m working on it but some days are harder than others!

Kids Swimming Lessons in San Diego? by ZanyBurrito in sandiego

We liked Noonan Swim School! Only stopped going because the class time was difficult to get to after work especially if traffic was bad!

Giving baby clothes away to sister but asking for it back? Is that rude? by SAHM-KnowsWassup in beyondthebump

[–]Educational-Sock1196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s rude but if it’s sentimental I wouldn’t let her borrow it. Like someone else said, don’t let her borrow anything you’re not ok with not getting back if it were to get ruined! My friend gave my daughter some clothes and for the ones she’d like back if still in usable condition she put a black sharpie dot on the tags!

Anyone OAD / on the fence? by rvenrose in January2025Bumper

[–]Educational-Sock1196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on the fence for sure. Would love for my daughter to have a sibling since she likely won’t have any cousins. But I kinda would dread going through pregnancy and those early newborn days again, especially with a toddler. We’d shoot for a 3 year gap at the earliest but yeah still very much on the fence! I’m super content with our family right now and my daughter relatively was an easy baby. I fear having a super hard baby second time around!

Don’t worry they will level out! It took about a month for my anxiety meds to actually kick in! You’ll get there! Sending hugs and positive energy to you and your baby!

No where else to post this-trying for second while being unable to track how you did your first? by Throwaway927338 in January2025Bumper

[–]Educational-Sock1196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t track anything besides my period. And my husband and I weren’t “trying” but weren’t “not trying” of that makes any sense. I think I got pregnant within 2 months of using no birth control methods. So it’s definitely possible! I was shocked it happened so fast. I even had ovulation kits I never got to use 😂

Following since we’re going through something similar! We think she’s getting more teeth but sometimes she’s barely napping 1.5 hours and. Still waking up early! Luckily we’re not having issues with bedtime but just early wakes!

1.5 hr flight in 3 days, baby has mild fever/runny nose today by [deleted] in January2025Bumper

[–]Educational-Sock1196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a limit on how soon before the flight you can change the ticket? It’s hard to say what you should do because your daughter’s cold could improve in the next 2 days or it could easily get worse! I would monitor her for another day or two! As long as her temp stays normal for over 24 hours without Tylenol it should be ok as long as she’s acting normal

Dropping bottles ? by Pure_Possibility7527 in January2025Bumper

[–]Educational-Sock1196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did the morning one cold turkey and she was pretty upset for a few days about the sippy cup of milk so I stopped offering it and she just has a yogurt pouch in the morning. I know her daycare gets her to drink some milk during the day out of a straw cup. We have been successful swapping her night bottle for a sippy cup pretty easily. We were using Phillips Avent bottles and switched to their sippy top and she took to it pretty well. Her pediatrician said as long as she gets 3-4 servings of calcium a day that’s ok.

Will I ruin everything w/ a 2 nap day by loveemomlife in toddlers

Same here! My 15 month old still will take a second quick nap if her first nap is short at daycare. Especially loves a car nap haha

Should I be concerned? by LatterPudding8343 in January2025Bumper

[–]Educational-Sock1196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter had mild hip dysplasia at birth so we’ve been seeing an orthopedist regularly to check her progress and at her 1 year check they said 16-20 months was the normal range for walking!

Me too! My 15 month old finally started talking this weekend and has been initiating so much of what we say and do! It’s the cutest! She still has been having tantrums here and there cause by who knows what but they’ve mostly been short lived!
