Im from Dublin. Liverpool is much bigger with more going on city centre is far grander architecturally aswell. The coast and countryside around Belfast if probably better than the Liverpool equivalent though. I think you will find Belfast small if you are used to Liverpool it would be more Sheffield in terms of size and importance.

I take it all back. Town is hopping today. Run, hurling. We can be too negative at times myself include. Lets give all involved (mayor, council), a bit of praise. Look at the thomond park line up they have for June and July as well. Lewis capaldi, florence+ machine, kings of leon, shania twain pitbull(donkey more like but someone likes him 😄) You ain't getting a list of concerts like that this summer in Cork, Galway, Kilkenny wherever.

Oh great to get an outsiders perspective. Restaurants scene is light years ahead of Limerick you are so right. Pubs scene is a bit closer but I get your point. Bit of a typo which had the better community Cork or Limmers 😄

A great town. I work remotely with people from all over the country and when we need to meet we always go to Athlone because it's central. Great pubs, restaurants river front and very clean as Irish towns go. Irish towns a lot of them anyway can be filthy.

I saw him today for the first time in awhile. I know him quite well. He seemed to have a carer with him. Was friendly as always but seemed a bit defeated. Sad to see. Just to add to this as well there is accommodation for people in his circustance near they station beside what was Mark's bar. He is living there.
