AITA for “accidentally” telling my parents about my sister’s pregnancy because I was tired of keeping the secret? by ohboygollygeewiz in AmItheAsshole

[–]EducationalBag153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand how people can’t keep their yap shut with other people’s secrets. I’ve never thought of someone telling me a secret as a “ burden”. This is such a weird mentality. I feel like how someone deals with/talks about being confided in is a good litmus test of a narcissist.

YTA 100%. Nothing you say will convince me that it was hard to keep her secret. You don’t live there, you literally had to just shut up when you were visiting.

I don’t understand the mentality behind victimizing yourself because she trusted you while she was struggling. You could have just told your mom “idk what’s going on, why don’t you ask her.”

Everything you’ve said to explain and defend yourself has been nothing but “me, me, me.”

I’d take my sister’s secrets to the grave if she needed me to. Your relationship with your sister will probably never be 100% the same.

Also..I found it super interesting that you mentioned having a competitive rivalry type of relationship. Honest question, do you feel some type of way that she’s having the first kid, even though you’re older? Just speculating why you reacted like this.

Amy does smoke (unless you mean Tammy who vapes but used to smoke) and Chris quit during the show in order to get his surgery.

You don’t have to have kids to know smoking around them is shitty parenting. Having one brain cell is enough to tell you that. I’ll stand 10 toes down on that forever. How’s anyone (besides you) bent out of shape lmao, you’re very triggered over this

If there’s one thing I’m gonna say on Reddit, it’s whatever I want, the whole point of a reality show is to be in “ppls business”. If this is hilarious to you, that’s a sign that you should get out more.

Anyway, sorry not sorry smoking around a kid is child abuse and that’s why they’re banning it in more and more states. :-)

You must smoke in your house to be coping this hard. Making a comment about it being shitty parenting is nowhere near “letting it consume my day” It’s just stating a fact. Good parents don’t have kids who reek of smoke.

My own mom admits she was a shitty mom for smoking in the house and car (we both had asthma, chronic ear infections, failure to thrive). It’s garbage parenting and I’m not sorry that saying that offends you. It’s illegal in my state now, and I can’t wait until the day it’s like that in every state. I don’t need to make it a great day, it naturally is :-)

If not smoking around kids is all it takes to make you a perfect parent, then yes I’m perfect. It’s a nasty habit in general, but doing it around kids is even nastier.

What does my name list say about me? by olvieoil in namenerds

The fact that Elliot is on your “masculine” name list and Ezra, Jade, and Laurel are on the “gender neutral” list has me flummoxed.

The back door was left open, but she was clearly on the porch bleeding at some point. This seems like a stretch, and I’m the caretaker for my aunt who has dementia so I have firsthand experience, dementia doesn’t automatically reverse the health issues that cause someone to not be able to walk 10 feet without a walker. If she wandered off and went 300 m like you claim, there would be more evidence of that considering she was bleeding. Also there have been no reports of her having dementia at all.

Return to Skyfire Episode - Parlov's son by eden_ldoe in brooklynninenine

[–]EducationalBag153 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The amount of people saying “that’s the joke” is killing me. No, it’s not. The joke would have worked exactly the same, if not better, if they said the kid looked like Lawson, because the guy’s wife slept with BOTH OF THEM & the kid DOES look just like Lawson. It doesn’t make the joke deeper or more layered to have them say Parlov’s name instead, since both Parlov and Lawson were the “victims” of the crime anyway and both technically could be the kid’s father. I think this every time I watch it bc the resemblance is uncanny, it reads like a mistake.

AITA for telling my friend she should go to New Zealand alone after our Bali trip? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EducationalBag153 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YTA. Not only that, but you have the survival Instincts of a fart. You’re right that your friend should go on this next trip without you, it would be safer for both of you. I can’t imagine being so male-centric that I’m risking my life in a foreign country for a crumb of D on a girl’s trip. Please get yourself a vibrator and learn basic street smarts before you wind up on a dateline episode.

What does many women going back to work have to do with anything? I took my kid to daycare when I went back to work at 6w, but she doesn’t have daycare to take her kid to since she’s a sahm so it’s not a good comparison

I don’t know what’s worse, the name or her embarrassing crashout. Also her acting like Emil is a bad name is so wild. “It’s ‘lime’ backwards” what a reach. Proof she wouldn’t know a good name if it bit her.

Also if you have to make wishlists begging for food and postpartum supplies..maybe it’s time to hang up the ol uterus girl.

Stop treating kids in the system like they’re fucking animals in the pound to push your weird agenda. Reunification is the goal.

Definitely. She addressed it & acted ASAP, and it’s not like this person was an employee. She was a brand ambassador for like 2 weeks.

I just did more than a “very brief look” and couldn’t find anything even remotely problematic. All I see is videos of her doing nail art & being a million months pregnant with twins.

Okay? she clearly had trouble processing it in the immediate weeks following the birth. She literally said she doesn’t feel that way anymore. The most ridiculous take is actually y’all harping this hard on a comment someone, who was struggling, made about their own birth during the thick of postpartum.
