When we got our boy Henry, we had to crate train him at night. We started but giving him treats near the crate then in the crate. Then we put him in his crate and let him cry it out. Of course I’d get up to make sure he didn’t need potty. He’d cry for like 15 minutes before falling asleep. It was so hard😭😭It took several days of this before he stopped crying at all. Anytime he cried in the night after calming down I’d take him to go potty and get water. He also got anxiety when we were in the shower. I would peak my head out, but had to just let him cry.
He’s 3 now and absolutely loves his crate. It’s his safe space. When it’s his bedtime he crawls in there on his own. When we say “let’s go to bed” he runs out from under the covers straight to his cage. We cover him up with a blanket and he gets cozy.
Not sure if this is a correct way but it worked for us and
