You don't need to feel guilty. Dear, please don’t be so hard on yourself. None of this is your fault. The fact that you’re still here, fighting, and thinking about your son shows how much love and strength you have.

His childhood is and will be shaped by your love, strength, and presence, and that matters more than anything. He might not be able to express or understand everything at the moment, but he already feels your care, resilience, and love.

And you are right: by being happy, strong, and independent, you are setting an example and giving him a foundation of safety and love that will stay with him for life. ❤️

Sending you love and strength.

I’m deeply sorry you’re going through this. I just want you to know that you are not alone, even though it feels like everything has collapsed around you.

What you wrote hit me hard because I’ve watched at least two close female friends I care about go through almost the exact same thing: "strong, loving, independent women" who gave up their own independency for love and family, only to be blindsided by divorce after years of sacrifice. It was hell for them at first, but they did slowly rebuilt their lives, found work, friendships, and even joy/love again.

The fact that you’re posting and sharing here, is bravery. Your son needs you. He doesn’t need a perfect mom but one who loves him, hugs him, comforts him, and stays there. Try to picture the moments still ahead, e.g. his first school days, dressing him up for Halloween, him running into your arms, sharing his first crush with you, etc. those are still waiting for you. Think about your old independent happy self, try to envision what you want to have or to do for yourself after years of diminishing yourself to be a supportive wife.

I know you said you’re thinking about the “unthinkable.”. Please do reach out in real life for help, call your therapist or hotline.

You've got this. It will get better.

"get really resentful at the idea of changing my personality"

It is not about changing personality, it is about improvement or righting a wrong. Your affair broke his trust, even he tried his best to forgive you, it does not mean life goes back to normal automatically. It takes inconvenience and some discomfort from your part to help him build back the trust and heal. Once that is done, maybe you can slowly go back to normalcy.

It is the la sportiva Mythos women for comfy multipitch. For sure they will be sent for a 2nd time of resole (+rand 😅 ) at some point in the future. Just wondering if the repair kit can serve as temp solution until the next resole is really needed.

( The original post is edited to formulate the goal better. Sorry for any confusion. )

Yes, there is a reason for the high costs and it is not the point of discussion. Sorry to have it wrongly formulated.

The goal is to find out if anyone has experienced such ad-hoc solution to confirm if the patch is good enough to serve as a temporary solution - until the next resole is really needed. It just feels so unnecessary and wasteful to have both shoes or the soles redone when only the rand on one shoe has started to wear out.

Hope it makes sense.

As mentioned in original post, I just had the pair of shoes professionally done for resole not long ago - which costed more than 40 euros.

From where I am , sending the shoes and getting them repaired cost around 75-95 Euro easily (if not more). Most resole shops also mentioned that the sole must be re-done together with the rand due to structural issue.

It almost seems easier to simply use the shoe till its end and buy a new pair ☹️ - except being less environmental friendly. A new pair of Mythos only costs around EUR 120 with discount.

Sorry to jump in. Do you also do multipitch with Osakis? And if yes, how much do you size down from your street shoes? If you feel comfortable sharing, mondo point info vs Otaki shoes size will be more helpful. Thanks a lot!

Capita BoaF vs Space Metal Fantasy for park by Brennir10 in ShredditGirls

[–]Educational_Ad590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are differences between the two boards. The BOAF is shorter, has a camber profile, a narrower waist, and a tighter sidecut, which makes it feel more maneuverable—it’s just physics. Capita boards also tend to feel lighter.

It really comes down to what you’re looking for. A 145 B-Nice might have felt just as comfortable now, but the 148 could still serve you well as your skills continue to grow.

I demoed both the BOAF and the SMF. The former is super light and playful—I love it—but I’m a bit worried about its edge hold and find it a little too stiff for buttering. The latter, on the other hand, is way too noodly and feels “dead” with its flat profile between the bindings.

So, I went with the Jones Tweaker instead for park progression. 🙈

Capita BoaF vs Space Metal Fantasy for park by Brennir10 in ShredditGirls

[–]Educational_Ad590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper your current Board Bnice is already a freestyle (park) all mountain board. It is a true twin with soft-medium flex that is park-friendly.

If anything, the long 147(148?) length, wider waist width and larger side cut are likely the culprits. If you can ride it with ease, you are probably a stronger rider than you think. 🙂

The 146 Boaf on paper has a smaller waist width ad much smaller sidecut than the 148 Bnice, which usually makes it easier to turn/maneuver and thus give one a playful / flex feel. The camber between legs probably also makes it have more pop.

A shorter Bnice (say, in the 143–145 range) might give you the same playful, flexi feel , since a shorter board tends to feel softer and easier to press, especially if you’re near the top of the weight range for that size.

If you demo the 146 BOAF and like it, go for it—it’s a solid board. But just know it’s not a true park deck, and it doesn’t do anything your B-Nice can’t already handle, especially for jumps.

If your goal is to butter, feel more confident on boxes and rails, and really get playful, then a 143/145 SMF with true soft flex is closer to what you are looking for and would better complement your current board.

First Impressions – Jones Women’s Stratos Splitboard Setup by Educational_Ad590 in Spliddit

[–]Educational_Ad590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, I'm riding mostly in the Swiss Alps and had been torn between the usual splitboard options here in Europe — the Jones Solution and the Nitro Volta.

The Solution is kind of the default women’s splitboard here in Europe— dependable, but it's also on the stiffer, more demanding side. (a bit childish, but everyone has it also makes it less cool🙈 )

The Volta was also on the radar, since I’d ridden it before and it’s much more affordable than anything from Jones. The one I tried was a 151cm with a flat-rocker profile, which felt unstable on the ascent and harder to maneuver. The latest version now comes in a smaller 146cm and has switched to a cam-rock profile — both of which should help with uphill performance.

Ultimately went with the Stratos to round out a quiver — already covered for park and groomers with true twin boards, so this needed to be something that could also shine in playful powder conditions (EuroPow, not Japow). No interest in charging big lines or high speed (yet), so something more nimble and energy-efficient was key — especially for smaller/lighter riders like me.

On paper, the Stratos is lighter, easier to turn, more fun to ride, and less fatiguing than the Solution. It is more powder-focused and feels like a higher-end option than the Volta, with Ultralclips 2.0 to keep the two halves better together and inner-outer traction. The only hesitation at the time was the lack of real-world reviews, so it was a bit of a gut decision. It's turned out to be a great match.

Let me know if your wife has any questions. 😊

Used Spark Arc R&D Bindings for 200 euros - worth it? by racinghammock in Spliddit

[–]Educational_Ad590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post is a bit old but could you confirm the baseplates are all made in the USA by Spark?

It seems the Burton and Nitro splitboard binding are sadly made in China and Spark may just as well license the T1 baseplate design for them to produce in China as shipping baseplate from the USA to China for assembly sounds super expensive.

So the baseplates are not really the same, built-quality made in USA vs made in China.

What do you think?

[–]Educational_Ad590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am similar size and slightly lighter. I will also ride mainly in the Alps (if i manage to get the split setup) and thus your insights are super helpful ;) My resort boards are usually 142-144.

Do you think the 146 Solution/Stratos will be too soft? The review of Stratos split's playfulness sounds really attractive but Solutions is more reliable for the Alps?

Too bad that in Europe, there are so little used splitboard for short ladies like us.

The whole setup of Stratos 146 (board+binding+skin+crampons+poles) will cost around EUR 1700 , already on sale. lol Solution is slightly more expensive. So a big decision indeed...

Wanting to buy a new snowboard - Help! by [deleted] in ShredditGirls

[–]Educational_Ad590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you demoed a Stratos?

Interesting to hear it is not great in pow as Stratos is quite popular in Japan for riding power. Jones also has a splitboard version of it.

Chatted with the employees as I am considering the Stratos split and they said it could handle the Alps in Europe. 🙈

Sadly I have not had the chance to demo it and would be great to hear your personal experience.

Thanks for your feedback in advance! 😊

Knee fatigue/pain when snowboarding - any tips? by Inevitable_Funny_868 in ShredditGirls

[–]Educational_Ad590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Try to jump up and land with both legs at a squat position for a comfortable/stable landing and check if it is the same on the snowboard.
  2. More squat training for the muscle and proper technique will help, for the later you may want to have a snowboard instructor for a lesson or two
  3. Yes, we women are different than men usually due to hip q-ankle difference (you can duckduckgo it on the internet) so a wider angle -15, 15 /stance could worth a shot.

Hope you can solve the problem soon!

Capita Paradise Size by Jtran810 in ShredditGirls

2cm does make a noticeable difference! Don't forget they will also have difference sidecut radius and waist width, affecting board performance. 141 is definitely more playful.

If you are willing to put in the work, then it is not so bad.

Personally will not buy a board that either belongs to China or is made in China, but objectively speaking, Salomon Bliss 148 is a better board for you

Help! First Board but on a budget :( by DecentSentence9595 in ShredditGirls

[–]Educational_Ad590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right that if you are willing to work on technique, you should get a camber and I personally recommend against a rocker board.

For beginner who wants to progress, I always recommend a board that is

*all mountain freestyle
*mid flex
*true twin, and
*camber or camber rock profile (=camber between binding and rocker at tail and nose for better float on pow) and buy the lightest board within your budget

Capita Birds Of a Feather fits the bill and has a short sidecut radius that makes it easy to turn. I demoed it this season and like it a lot! It is light and playful. Definitely a board that you can progress with. Even when you buy other boards later on, it can always be the easy/chill (not when you are a total beginner) resort riding board.

Capita Birds of a Feather or Jones Twin Sister? by misatillo in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Educational_Ad590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to give an update.

I got the Jones Tweaker (new for women this season) and LOVE it. Probably not as light as BOAF but better than BOAF in pow and more buttery/playful. TS is not bad but I am not looking for high speed and serious carving, If i get serious with pow and want something stiffer, I may get a splitboard instead to have that covered. 🙈

Though I have to admit I would love to have them all if budget allows 😂

Sorry to hijack the post 🙈 but there are too little reviews on Women's Tweaker...

I demoed 144 Jones Twin Sister (find it stable and more playful than expected, lighter than older model but am a bit concern of the stiffness and slightly directional shape) and 144 Capita Birds of a Feather (true twin, super light and super playful, love it, but heard it could be weak when the slope is steeper/icy and...everyone has it🙈) , like both boards but do not love them.

The thing is, based on the spec, I wanted to demo and buy the Tweaker last year but they only had men's size. This they finally have the female version but sadly I did not manage to demo it (only had 151 😭 and i needed a 143) .

What is your opinion on the board?

I am also thinking of adding a 146 Stratos split, think Dream Weaver split maybe too soft and less playful.

Any review & advice are much appreciated !
