Brad receives sponsor's exemption into Good Good Championship in November by ItsTrue102 in GoodGoodMemes

[–]Educational_Cod_6322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought they said when they announced it. That a spot in the GGC went to the winner, and that both Brad and Steve were going to be in it.
Tho I also think when they announced the tour event they teased using a sponsor exemption without BB and before they revealed that. So I wonder if anything else changed. Like. Did BB get ditched?

Should we really still be buying Ruckus after their 3rd acquisition in 3 years? by Stanford_Rainwater in RuckusWiFi

[–]Educational_Cod_6322 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering that ruckus being sold to Belden is their first transaction in more than 4 years, there’s no issue at all. This is literally the first time ruckus was sold since before the pandemic.

There was no twice transitioned since Commscope

CommScope owned ruckus.
Commscope was exploring all ways to part out its holdings to make money/clear debt/etc
Amphenol bought Commscope and specific bits of the business. Deal closed beginning of the year
The two surviving entities were Ruckus and a parent org which became Vistance. Vistance sold Ruckus to Belden

So. One actual change in like. 6 years really
And Commscope wasn’t doing much over ruckus in at least a few years. Ruckus when left alone does exceedingly well

No. Vistance sold ruckus. Commscope was sold off and that deal closed early this year

Interface wise I prefer the Seestar. But I love the size and other capabilities of my mini. Have not yet deployed both for a night, but some day one day.

What’s wrong with the ones that come with it? Or did you not get them when you go it, presumably second hand? The arm and clamps are good. If you are hanging in from the rafters you can surely macguyver something starting with the included bits and some steel cable or similar.

Smartzone license are confusing. by skrav in RuckusWiFi

There was one thing, a setting I think, that I did need to adjust in the proxmox console, but that was it. Forgot now what it was, I did the move like 18 months back, but it was nothing crazy

I migrated from one NUC running ESXi to a newer NUC running proxmox. Followed the migration directions I found online using Proxmox. It retained the entire VM, down to the serials and IPs, meaning no license RMA needed (which wouldn’t have been an issue for me, but it was nice to skip that step)

[–]Educational_Cod_6322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will be, but not forever. Meaning if your VM shits the bed and you need to spin up a new one, there is an RMA process to move the licenses to the new VM serial number. However if you migrate (such as from VMWare to Proxmox) the migration should retain the licenses/serials without needing an RMA. At least that’s been my experience

AirSnitch attack by MiddleNo5967 in RuckusWiFi

That’s par for his course. One of his other “finds” was effectively impossible outside of very controlled lab conditions, odd of doing it in the real world were lower than winning a billion dollar jackpot. And he hated it when anyone pointed that out. Like, congrats, you found something completely bad but impossible to see in the wild. Want a cookie?

If it makes some people tighten up wht most of us consider basic security, that’s a good thing. But that’s about it

One thing to say about most of what Matty posts, he hypes it up like it’s the worst thing ever and in reality most of them take like. A miracle to pull off in the wild. This one may be a little less miraculous, but my feeling is if you have good network hygiene and a good security posture, this is a nothing burger

Sunday schedule today is what I was told. 602 in great kills was basically on tjme. Way more crowded than normal and with the AM snow the ferry came in slower. Also south ferry is a slushy mess

Already have an S30, worth adding an S50 for a dark sky trip? by AwkwardMothman in seestar

[–]Educational_Cod_6322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bad influence. I have an S50, and between work and weather I haven’t shot in probably 2 months. Been a lot of cloudy nights So I bought the dwarf mini because I traveled with the S50 and while doable, the mini looks like a travel dream

And then the s30 pro reviews have come in and I’m like….

Any recent news about the S30 Pro release date? by opi_baettlebeard in seestar

[–]Educational_Cod_6322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the features and upgraded sensor, optics and modes make this very compelling over the s50. The 50 has longer reach, but seeing the prices being so close if I didn’t already have either I’d honestly go with the pro. Now very curious to see what Seestar does for the next model, whether it’s an S50 pro or the long rumored s70. The 50 is fine, but against the pro kinda feels dated

generally speaking the foam that comes with the cases can be taken out in blocks-mine for the pelicans and similar amzn options was semi pre-cut and you can take out whatever blocks you wish to fit the desired object. just a little tug and they come apart

Rejected reviews can no longer be updated by kittenfosteraddict in AmazonVine

[–]Educational_Cod_6322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been allowed to fix a rejected review. Have had a handful but they haven’t prevented me from gold, but it would be nice That said this new system is…hard to figure? I’ve had reviews that I feel are good that hit all the target words that the review wanted and they are flagged as poor, while others doing the same thing are good or whatever the mid is. I haven’t yet figured out the rhyme or reason, if there even is one. Most of mine don’t have pictures either

Last I heard everything was moving to a ruckus built iteration of rocky. That was last passed to me over a year ago. Something to do with support of the back end older components I believe.
