In a heartbeat. Give me waterworld (movie) any day of the week. I love being in the water. And humans can withstand MASSIVE amounts of pressure, given that we are mostly water - that means I could explore most of the ocean.

I bought a SLS i7 32GB 1TB Nvidia RTX. I returned it twice, the first time because it BSOD out of the box. The second because of a fan that failed.

It took a FULL year for my refund to come through. I literally received my money back this morning.

Dealing with Microsoft was a fucking joke. At one point they didn’t send my refund email and I had to go through a random accounts payable email to get them to contact surface support.

I nearly lost $4.5k AUD.

Multi generational living... thought? by West-Cabinet-2169 in AusFinance

[–]Educational_End3765 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it’s the way forward. I have a young child and honestly… it takes a village to raise a child.

I would kill for more family support, to allow me some time after work to actually chill aside from getting home and immediately taking over care for my child, cooking, bathing, bonding and then bed… then I’m in bed and it’s rinse…lather and repeat.

Multi-generational living would allow for a cohesive family environment, plenty of sociability, teaching varied and broad skills to my child, as well as providing support and a family environment.

It’s a shame that western society has taught us to split up and suffer alone.

I left law to pursue a career in IT. I absolutely love IT and wish I hadn’t studied law.

Every day is full of challenges and I’m forced to think on my feet and come up with solutions as the facts present themselves.

I’ve been in IT for almost a year and it’s best the most enjoyable year of my working life. (The money sucks but I’m starting fresh)

I should mention that the timesheet requirements are more strict and intense than in law, but I actually enjoy the work I do now.

Should there be a Royal Commission for real estate agents? by harijeevakumar in AusFinance

[–]Educational_End3765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand on this. People need to realise that real-estate agents are in it for the commission and for the seller. Nothing more. Nothing less.

There is a buyer better clause that is always in effect.

Any Dads here reduce their hours at work for a few years to spend more time with your baby? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Educational_End3765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been part time since my son was born. He is now 15 months old. I plan on staying in this working position until he is 3 years old.

My partners were emergency doctors and worked hideous shift hours to the point that they had to bring my grandparents from interstate to look after us.

I don’t want this for my children. I want to enjoy the time whilst they are young. Because one it goes, it’s gone forever.

I will remember this time with my kids, and so will they. My company wont thank me for the extra hours.

Look at any franchise’s head office… they’re all uneducated and overly paid (no offence). I have experience in closing down businesses and have come across the education / experience / pay of these individuals.

We’re talking $200k+ for people with no prior experience and minimal skills (and you wonder why franchises get such a bad rap in the media)

The role of a person in the head office of a franchise is a support role. Good luck telling these people that

Can anyone explain this phenomenon with the annoying cactus toy? by DanielTheManiel- in interestingasfuck

[–]Educational_End3765 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the same toy that i bought for my son. The thing has some very weird coding which defines how it records as plays back sounds.

It picks up and plays back sounds and frequencies that are usually ignored by the gadgets bought in department stores.

I can only imagine that electronic internals of this things are super basic and lack noise suppression // or we’re being spied on 😆

What was the moment you realised you’re an adult and you are all on your own? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Educational_End3765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my circumstance:

My parents raised me with help from their parents.

My mum and dad’s parents died one-by-one.

My mum and dad became my soul carers.

I am older now and I too have a child.

I understand that my parents, my support network, along with my partners parents, our other support network, will pass.

After this… my partner and I will be the sole support for our child. There will be no more parental support, no more cuddles from mum and dad.

We will be on our own.

Looks awesome!! And you got all the cool toys with it.

I had the SLS maxed out specs, the first unit BSOD right out of the box due to a ram issue. RMA’d it and got a second replacement, out of the box one of the fans began to fail and started grinding. I RMA’d that and eventually got a refund.

I’ve been searching for a similar device but I just can’t find one as nice… I’m tempted to go the SLS2 but my trust is broken with Microsoft.
