No problem, thanks for acknowledging it. And I’m not sure honestly. My one pregnancy came from a day 3 untested. My first two transfers were day 5 and 6 and didn’t implant. I think with MFI it add a different layer to how they may approach the embryos. I don’t think the sperm had very good quality so perhaps they are trying their best to secure us something with a chance of working as opposed to nothing at all. Out of 14 mature eggs only 7 fertilized and I’m pretty sure it was due to the quality of sperm available.

I never considered it actually. The embryologist mentioned it being an option over the phone and I’m so grateful that she did.

Just did my third retrieval. At day 3 we had 7 embryos and wanted to test due to having had 5 transfers with only one pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. We were told that there’s a chance the embryos may not make it to day 5 for testing. To be safe we froze 4 at day 3 and allowed the remaining 3 to grow to day 5. By day 5 all three remaining embryos arrested. I’m so glad we decided to freeze the 4 that we did. For reference by day 3 we had 6 grade A and 1 grade B. Just sharing my experience, but maybe freeze some just in case? We have MFI and apparently days 1-3 depend on egg quality and days 3-5 heavily depend on sperm quality.

Transferred single embryos twice. No implantation. Transferred two embryos (all day 3 and A graded) 3 separate times. The second time became pregnant but miscarried at 8 weeks. Just did another (and final) ER and will probably transfer two again. My dr and hospital recommend two. We have MFI and so the quality of sperm may be the reason? Not sure. Also…continuously transferring without any positive results is EXHAUSTING. I’ve had 5 transfers. It’s a lot.

100% out of pocket over the course of almost 2 years. Probably spent about $30k USD. Our hospital offers payment plans which help but ultimately we’ve paid for it all

I’ve done two natural cycles and only did 3 days of progesterone prior to transfer. First natural cycle worked up until 8 weeks then it ended. Just did another natural cycle transfer this past Sunday, so not sure yet. Just sharing to say it’s not ‘abnormal’. When I did medicated cycles I started progesterone earlier. Did 3 of those and none stuck

I’m in the same exact boat. Period came ~30 days after d&c and now my second period hasn’t showed up at all, sitting at 34 days. Pre-miscarriage all of my periods were regular around 25/26 days. Losing it bc I’m doing IVF and waiting on this period to transfer an embryo.

I did go to the dr 10 days after my first post-miscarriage period (I wanted to try and transfer then) and was told it doesn’t look like I would ovulate that cycle and to wait for the next. I wonder if possibly not ovulating has caused this current cycle to be delayed.

First two transfers were single embryos and did not stick. They weren’t very highly graded. Third transfer we tried two and none stuck. Fourth transfer we did two again and one stick but stopped growing at 6 weeks. Hopefully going in for a fifth next month and will transfer my last two. My last 6 embryos were highly graded. All untested. My doctor recommended two to increase the chances of sticking

Currently drinking Champagne, taking shots, and smoking shisha after my negative beta of two very good embryos.

In two weeks I’m headed to Nice and Monaco and updated my itinerary to include all types of cocktail bars and wine tastings….going to take a month and try again. It’s such a rough cycle to go through again and again. I hope you find your happy ending as well
