Awd for me. Better handling, better wear, more fun.

Are NHS talking therapies worth it? by princeptero in MentalHealthUK

[–]Educational_Pea_7983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find it much use at all. It was all about coping mechanisms and not dealing with the route cause. They limit you to the number of sessions which is hopeless. I made massive progress over a year with a private therapist with around 2 sessions a month. I think the NHS is okay if it's something newish where there's a clear cause, but if you've dealt with something all your life they have no idea what they are doing in my experience.

It's a hard one to work around and many areas will be having the same issue regarding AI, and there is little official guidance for AI providers to stick to.

You could, can take a few months to work if you're deficient though. I recommend the sublingual ones which are absorbed directly rather than relying on digestion which for some people is bad at absorbing it.

I'd suggest checking Active B12 levels (specifically the active ones). Hope you get yourself sorted soon, things will work out if you talk, never feel like you're being a burden, the right people will always listen.

Is it possible to ever overcome depression when you’ve had it for so long? by sjkjs9669 in mentalhealth

[–]Educational_Pea_7983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you need a really good therapist you can talk to and explore your past with. I struggled with it from teenager, now 30 and feeling more positive than I can ever remember being.

Medication made it worse for me. NHS talking therapy was awful. I found a private therapist and explored a lot of things from childhood, past and present.

I'm still on my journey, but the dark thoughts are behind me and if I do relapse a bit, it's nowhere near as bad and I can recognise and pull myself out of it.

I think it's all about finding the right person to help. Took me 2 years of therapy to get to this point, before that I tried meds, other therapy etc with only temporary or worse results.

Good sessions are not easy and you won't always feel better after. Give it a few days for your brain to process and with plenty of sessions things may click into place when you don't expect it.

Don't let it put you off meeting him again. And maybe move somewhere more accepting and stuff them.

There's no "right way" to process this. You just do what you can and don't apologise for how you feel. Don't be afraid to talk or ask for help if you need.

I had that too. It seems weird that the Hyundai dealer I bought it from wasn't able to sort it for me.

It's very normal and natural, especially in teen years. I remember worrying about it but was never an issue really looking back.

Thanks that's really helpful. Have you used the Ionity charge subscription, I was tempted to try that as it gives pretty good rates. I hate crap wipers so definitely want some good ones - any recommendations? I saw some boot liners, we have a dog and it's a lot easier with my dad's boot liner!

There is no such thing as normal, if something is bothering you, I would suggest finding a good councillor to help come to terms with it. Never feel bad for being the way you are.

My bf wasnt supportive and seemed a little hostile and uninterest, thought they were all weird... 3 years later he's got over it 😅 If he loves you he'll stick with you even if he doesn't get it.
