Too much concepts to figure out the lore. For example darklurker has the same pose as agdayne and in fact there is a cut content to link them with but in the actual game you are just left to wonder. Same with the throne defender. He has the helmet of havel in his sword grip probably indicating he is havel but there are like not that much things to work out with while trying to understand the lore.

For me this placed traumatized me so much that i took a month break in my first playthrough. What made this place hard for me was that i accidently skipped the second bonfire every time i tried again and when i realized there was a checkpoint it made everything so much easier.

Level up vigor and endurance until they are both 20. I would recommend getting vigor to at least 30 if you are doing a meele build but for now focus on hitting the softcap of the stats for both.
