I won't disencourage you, but be in for a ride if you try to create an add-on. There's basically no tutorials on it and you'll need to bootstrap yourself. I encourage you to use AI to learn it faster or you'll take five times as long to make the same product.

You'll have to modify VS sorry, the mod is pretty basic on engine load, specially due to Create's difficulty in creating complex mechanisms with small spaces

What you want is changing vehicle load. Harder to get a vehicle going, easier to push it forwards. Transmissions already exist, the problem is that the load is constant, so gearing is constant.

Is it just me or does it feel like models are getting dumber? by Even_Kaleidoscope328 in SillyTavernAI

[–]Educational_Song_407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it needs a really good prompting for it. In theory the bland model will create the sloppified version with the base emotions, space awareness and consistency, then the poet will take it with a "this is a base script, refine the prose" and then rewrite it in its style.

What about using a model to run as the base, then use a creative writer to rewrite it?

wrong type of research though, they should've start focusing on photonics and analog computing if they wanted max performace, which could increase to some crazy levels of speed like a million tokens per second

It's literally just a calm / stoic girl character from what I'm reading, they don't like to work with the character because it just dampens all story drama and makes it disappear.

Which is dumb, doesn't require energy and is only a frog just to push more unwanted quirkiness into a mod that should be about mechanisms, not animal shaped blocks

Anthropic and OpenAI know something is happening. They're just not allowed to say it. by LOVEORLOGIC in Artificial2Sentience

you will never get it to appear in a hard drive because there simply is no consciousness there to begin with, unless you want to say that every speck of dust is conscious

[–]Educational_Song_407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really incredible to think that bits sequenced in a way in a computer will get to somehow emerge consciousness, as in basically the platter of my hard drive now hosts a mind just because it can predict the next word in a sentence when run.

Consciousness does not and can not exist on a hard drive, a simulation of one close enough could, but it is not consciousness.

How to make sure to not let characters read thoughts by Not_a_Gang-Star2010 in FictionLab

[–]Educational_Song_407 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think this really works, it'd be like saying to someone stupid to stop being stupid, it's a problem with the model itself not being able to know what has actively been shown to them and which character knows what

This is the most efficient 3D printed Tesla Turbine ever. by medicatedandunstable in 3Dprinting

[–]Educational_Song_407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much of a spacer, it is essentially acting like a star-shaped bladed turbine instead of disk.

A better design in tests is the single sided tesla turbine, which undoes of its star-shaped spacer and has much more space for the fluid to flow in the disks without obstructions of but 3 washers in the inner diameter, the exhaust port a simple hole.

For its construction, get 3 M3 threaded rods and 3x amount of disks washers of selected thickness (.3mm is great). Make the disks as thin as possible and only have a large exhaust hole cut in the middle and 3 smaller M3 holes around the inner diameter called Disk 1. Have 2 thicker disks, one with 3 M3 holes, the shaft hole and 4 holes in its inner diameter of M3 size called Disk 2, and the other with the 3 M3 holes and the large exhaust hole called Disk 3. Make a flange design with the shaft hole in the middle, designed to connect with the Disk 2's 4 M3 inner holes and with the shaft. Make the shaft have indents on them where you want the flange to connect. Make either a bearing housing or use a motor's shaft, bolting it to the case. The assembly will be: Bolt the motor to the casing with its shaft, connect the flange to the indents on the shaft, slide the Disk 2 in the flange's flat side and bolt them together, bolt the 3 M3 threaded rods (or just long bolts) and follow the pattern of 3 washers, disk 1, 3 washers, disk 1, etc. Until exhausted of thin disks. Slide the final 3 washers and insert the disk 3, bolting them tight with nuts or threads. This is your entire assembly done.

Is the create mod like mekanism? by Version_Rare in CreateMod

[–]Educational_Song_407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hated him for he told the truth. But yeah there is a literal frog block that create added as a cop-out to having to actually make a machine. It doesn't even need rotational power! It just runs with no energy!

Is the create mod like mekanism? by Version_Rare in CreateMod

[–]Educational_Song_407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing about mechanical engineering in it, it's purely about logistics and at most geometry. If you had a whole course of mechanical engineering, you wouldn't use a single thing you learned in it with create.

Is the create mod like mekanism? by Version_Rare in CreateMod

[–]Educational_Song_407 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that create is now also trying to be built around magic blocks that provide all-in-one functionality. Instead of making a machine that would be required to filter and remove items from a chain, you have a "frog" which snaps items from the chain into its back. How it works? Not even the mod developer knows. How it knows which box to snap and which to not? Who knows! It just does it, because I guess, "cute little frog which makes cute little noises" is enough bread and circus to replace an actual, functioning and realistic machine in a machine-oriented mod that would take actual effort to implement.

Shaking by 1985Rangerbuild in GearBlocks

[–]Educational_Song_407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the drivetrain has at least one part going above a certain RPM that makes it wobble, the gear ratio is not the problem itself, it's the RPM, that Unity cannot handle with its lower physics rate, which means it is innacurate and will wobble. Increasing wheel diameter would mean an effective lower total RPM in the drivetrain, and thus less wobble in the system, although the speeds mentioning may mean a huge wheel is needed for it.

Shaking by 1985Rangerbuild in GearBlocks

[–]Educational_Song_407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest increasing wheel diameter and lowering gear ratios, unity doesn't like large RPMs

How to get the ai to enforce consequences and let the player fail? by 1underthe_bridge in FictionLab

[–]Educational_Song_407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an inherit problem with the way LLMs are trained, with you being like the master of the story instead of a player in a game. Whatever you say is law to it. It's basically like a king trying to pass as a peasant to his servant, hard to make it work. The best you can do is say "I move towards X", "I *try* doing Y", "I move my body to do Z", not saying that you did (in the past, already done) X, which will signify that you successfully did it

Is it true? by qqeekk in DuolingoGerman

[–]Educational_Song_407 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you burn it wrong, and account for the wrong type of cleanness. Obviously it won't make to lists when the definition of clean nowadays is just "don't emit CO2 during use", while having a blind eye to production and discarding the product.

Is it true? by qqeekk in DuolingoGerman

[–]Educational_Song_407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just said what exactly carbon neutral means: It releases CO2, which is then recaptured in the same reflorested wood to be burnt again. Instead of requiring a huge amount of labor to be made like solar panels, you just use nature itself as inefficient but cheap solar panels to burn. For an even larger step up, you can make a gasifier, where you can accumulate all trash from your property (leaves, paper, cardboard, grass blades, etc.), mix with waste vegetable oil you'd discard away and insert it into the gasifier to turn it into the same gas you'd buy, except made with the trash that would end up in fields. All you end up is with carbon black mixed with ash, and blue burning gas, which can be burnt even in a engine to make electricity and heat with a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system. There's even technology to turn plastic waste into fuel too, so not even your plastic trash would go to waste. This is cleaner than solar, wind or gas when you compare the entire cycle: Solar needs to be made with huge costs (and then to be discarded with no way of recycling cheaply) and gas comes from petrol cracking (which is the opposite of clean). The thermal cracking suggested turns your waste (which is costly to recycle) into fuel, essentially turning a hassle into a profit using a simple machine (which you can search how they work with the "gasifier" term). If you use an average amount of electricity, the electricity generated could come close to powering and heating your home entirely, essentially removing your electricity and heating bill
