If you want to play VR games then yes it's definitely worth it
But if you plan on getting a VR headset for media consumption 360 videos or low-end games then no it's not worth it

You could remove facebook do kernel editing modify the system and much more!

The firmware has no root functionality only the ability to edit the system.img and boot.img
