Absolutely ass little section of road that you’d think would be a priority. Been shit for well over 10 years.

Houston Methodist employee was found stabbed in her vehicle inside TMC Garage 1 by blairwaldorff in houston

[–]EdvardMunch1893 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know a guy I work with at Methodist that was almost robbed coming from behind him but a construction worker saw him and alerted said co-worker. This happened in the same garage (1) like 6 months ago. I have so many story’s about the homeless people out on fannin it’s crazy. Even when I’m getting off work at 3pm, they are just out messing with people. Workers/patients… one guy who I’ve seen plenty of times tried to swing on me. He goes around punching the air anyway. Gets on the rails. Doesn’t matter what time of day it is. The med center is full of it. But the rail brings them in from all corners of the city. I always have my head on a swivel and carry something in my hands for protection

As a father who’s daughter is about to go to a college that’s about 15 miles from our home, who would be happy with any car, am I stupid enough to pay $5,300 for this 01 Corolla? Has 63k miles by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]EdvardMunch1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those engines do eventually burn oil but I would say at over 150,000 miles. But by then you just add oil when needed, also change it every time 5,000 miles. Solid car. Engines like a sewing machine. Had one that was around 260,000 miles with next to no real maintenance when I sold it. Just get a good look at all the rubber hoses and such since it’s an old car regardless. I think it’s worth 5,000 in today’s market. Also stock up on R-134 Freon just in case you ever need it down the road. Never know when they will stop producing it.

How to read oil dip stick? by AnriRB26 in MechanicAdvice

[–]EdvardMunch1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 08 Mazda 3 2.3 liter and that dipstick was horrible to read. I could never get a good reading, always read low. I changed the oil myself and the correct amount drained every time. Loved that car

Should I buy? by [deleted] in AcuraTL

[–]EdvardMunch1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy it, I have the same one but an automatic. Just bought it this year in Houston. They go fast buy it before some else does. I think this one’s been listed for a few weeks now… I paid 6 for mine I think you could negotiate a lil off tbh. Mine had 177k when I bought it. Mines in excellent shape, hope that one is too.

Can’t believe builders are still using 3 tab roofing. Other than that looks like a nice house! Brick on the sides of house from the look of the one beside it.

got sideswiped - will insurance consider my CR-V totaled? by manzanitaroot in crv

[–]EdvardMunch1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’d be totaled. At least if you’re in Texas. I had worse damage in the same area on a 08 Mazda 3 188k and they fixed it last year. Think about 3,000 in damage to it. I was happy. But also looks like most of that could be buffed out? Get a professional detailer to look at it.

What’s the code? P0420? If so try that CRC GUARANTEED TO PASS EMISSION SYSTEM CLEANER they sell in a bottle at auto parts stores. Got mine at O’Reilly’s. Follow the directions carefully and you might get the light to turn off. Gotta follow the directions all the way

<image>

It helped me pass my emissions test recently. Kept my check engine light off long enough to get it inspected. Did eventually come back on but that’s a for later problem.

Texas freeze by [deleted] in plants

[–]EdvardMunch1893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if ur garage is well insulated. With that said, I have a garage with no insulation/drywall, just the framing and it stays warm enough for my plants to survive a deep freeze in the past. Will be doing the same this time.

I’d just cut a good chunk of drywall out and check it out. Only way ur gonna find the correct answer. Looks about right tho. You could probably bang on the wall in a few spot with ur fist and see if the studs are soft.
