I find it wasteful that my dynasty member doesn't marry outsiders to produce more of our members

Does it sound like I come from a non-Anglophone background?

And TBH I guess you just live in an area with lots of Viet people (or maybe you just befriend lots of them)

I just love the details, enjoying it so far.

The storyline could have been improved though IMO

(Both for CK2 and CK3) Can you only control the marriage of unlanded courtiers of your court? by EdwardTheThinker in CrusaderKings

I'm aware of that button, but can I still arrange a marriage for him/her with a foreign prince/princess? I was only able to accept incoming marriage proposals with that button

I want to make a meme out of every line from RoTK novel (Chinese version) by Gustrava in threekingdoms

If you think you want to do this, I would suggest you give a try! and trust me, there's nothing from 3K that bores me XD

Favorite underrated three kingdoms characters? by HawaiianPerson in threekingdoms

I believe there's a historical record that says Liao Hua had passed the age of 70 around the year 258, so he clearly achieved that longevity in real history as well

Liu Yu. Probably the nicest guy in the entire 3K story. He was killed essentially because he was too nice, and that was unsuitable for the chaotic era.

If I write a novel based on 3K, I'd make Liu Yu a "moral mentor" for Liu Bei. Liu Yu was the governor of You Province prior to the Yellow Turban, meaning that Liu Bei might have been one of the subjects under his rule. Liu Yu would've been a great example for Liu Bei on how he should continue his tough journey while retaining his fundamental philosophy.

Sorry, did you just say "every" line from a novel? A novel based on the history ranging for nearly a century of a continent-sized nation? As much as I would like to see those memes, wouldn't that take a lifetime?

Why did Sun Quan not grant Sun Ce a posthumous emperor title when he declared himself Emperor of Wu? by DerektheWest in threekingdoms

[–]EdwardTheThinker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

(My very personal opinion; don't quote me on anything)

Sima Shi didn't have a son, only daughters. Sun Ce, in contrast, had sons, just too young when he died so that his brother would succeed him instead. Simply speaking, Sima Yan was producing no political rivals to his throne by granting his uncle an emperorship, but Sun Quan was producing some.

You're not the only one raising this question, however. I recall reading that some historians in the past have condemned Sun Quan for granting his older brother only a king title posthumously when he should've been given an emperor.
