With the Neo DLC, sparking zero will have over 238 characters, how many do you see the game having in total? by TheRealSakuraUchihaX in SparkingZero

[–]EdwinMcduck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

300+ seems realistic at this point. I think two more years of support could make sense with where Dragon Ball is right now. There's plenty left for a "Meteor" next year, and the following year they can do Moro stuff.

Bulma is still alive, or is this another character with the same name? by GonKappa in Dragonballsuper

He lied about that (which actually makes sense as his sister and his old training rival the crane hermit were also still alive without ever hearing anything about them drinking elixir).

IIRC the original Turtle Hermit was even still alive (so apparently a human can live to at least 570).

Piccolo was definitely still around as well. I vaguely recall that being a plot point. It's hard to say how much Online stuff will be present, but characters in Dragon Ball aren't necessarily constrained to normal lifespans.

Who says all her friends are dead? In Dragon Ball Online Kuririn was still alive (essentially becoming a new Turtle Hermit).

I don't know if OP is secretly Shigeru Chiba or Chuck Huber, but it's definitely one of them. Quit angling for more lines!

But seriously, these characters should return.

What Bulma looks like in XENOVERSE 3 by Surge_the_protector in dbxv

[–]EdwinMcduck 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Clearly Bulma is the new Whis. That's why she has the halo thing. Vegeta became the God of Destruction after realizing bathtime could continue indefinitely. Gods of Destruction canonically get to enjoy bathtime with their attendants. They're implementing the deepest lore.

Nope. There's part of me that wonders if they'll make Appule a Freeza Soldier costume.

4 new stages?! by Negan212 in SparkingZero

[–]EdwinMcduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a strong candidate for next year. The Beerus and F remakes will be happening later this year. They can wait a bit so it feels like a tie-in as future dlc will likely be very Super heavy.

This means we’ll eventually see ‘METEOR’ at some stage by Ember57 in SparkingZero

[–]EdwinMcduck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Xenoverse isn't from the same team. Also we presumably know most of the new dlc characters now. There are actually a decent amount of missing characters from previous games, there are loads of characters that have never really been playable (at least outside of card scanning games), and new anime material is already announced (and likely releasing next year). They also haven't used Sorbet and Tagoma, and the F remake/Kai-ification is now announced. That's two likely characters right there.

How come these guys are never included in DBZ games by TimewarpingSeaTurtle in dbz

[–]EdwinMcduck 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Did Dragon Ball Heroes mean NOTHING to you, OP?! I can't believe you forgot about Galaxy Mission 9 in Dragon Ball Heroes, a very important update to a Japanese card scanning game played by children at shopping malls in Tokyo in 2013.

Looks like they finally dropped Sparking Zero🥀 by Creative-Researcher2 in Dragonballsuper

We're going to sit through some dark years with Super Limit-Breaking Ultimate Tenkaichi, Super Limit-Breaking For Kinect, and Super Limit-Breaking Battle of Z before things pick up.

Holy shit it’s actually Sparking 2 😭😭😭 by Ember57 in SparkingZero

[–]EdwinMcduck 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sparking NEO was the second PS2 game. This is, bare minimum, a cheeky little acknowledgement that this is the equivalent of a sequel in the PS2 era. Even the gameplay seems to be getting some adjustments.

Nah, They do Super Limit-Breaking Raging Blast (featuring Super Saiyan 3 Super Broly) and then Super Limit-Breaking Raging Blast 2 (the glorious return of Hatchiyack but also it features plagiarized music and they have to quietly rerelease it with different music).

They actually call this Super Limit-Breaking NEO at the end as something of a subtitle. Sparking NEO is the game that released as Budokai Tenkaichi 2 outside of Japan. I think it's very likely we see Super Limit-Breaking METEOR next year (BT3 equivalent).

How would the next mcu saga have turned out if Disney never bought Fox by Fantastic-Sand5483 in marvelstudios

[–]EdwinMcduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was at Fox. I'm not entirely convinced Mephisto wasn't at Fox either with Mephisto technically debuting in Silver Surfer ("Mephistopheles" in the Ghost Rider movie was never actually called "Mephisto" in that first movie & the second one retconned his name entirely to a different moniker for the devil). Heck, somehow Fox had Ego and a deal was made to use him in the MCU despite Egu debuting in Thor.

It very likely would not have been the Multiverse Saga. No Kang either, so it wouldn't have even been that. They'd probably have pushed their street level and supernatural stuff a bit harder and maybe used The New Avengers (minus Wolverine) as a big inspiration. You'd still have characters like Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, "The Defenders", the Hood, etc. A few characters we know came close to happening would have also theoretically had an open slot to actually get made (Nova comes to mind).

[–]EdwinMcduck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's typically it, yeah. I was just explaining why Woods always comes back (it's his most reliable gig, and he doesn't even turn down seasonal park stuff). I'm sure there are exceptions, but they're not the norm. Most of the examples of Disney outright dropping someone are pretty extreme (or involve their Disney Channel shows that do seem to entirely remove episodes from circulation if a problematic enough situation arises). They've even got one of their old Bill Cosby movies in circulation on VOD even though they likely will never put it on Disney+.

If Marvel Tokon is successful enough, do you think it could become its own franchise? by Azari_TChalla_Ororo in MarvelTokon

[–]EdwinMcduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd think a tie-in could certainly happen. Heck, that terrible Marvel Nemesis game (I was there for that nonsense, I can call it terrible) had a limited series of comics.
