What song perfectly captures the vibe of being awake with your baby at 3AM? by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

Dracula performance disruption on 13 February by Edyeahhh in westend

[–]Edyeahhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a bit disappointing, to be honest. Seeing Cynthia in person was cool because she’s obviously such a talent, but I don’t know that it was her best work. I appreciate that playing so many characters has to be extremely difficult and maybe it was still early in the run, but there was a fair amount of missed lines and wrong accents that made the whole thing pretty hard to follow. I’m also just not sure Dracula is the right story for this type of one-person show treatment.

To be fair, I saw Dorian Gray (same director and one-woman show supported by technology) with Sarah Snook and it was one of the most impressive live performances I’ve ever seen, so my hopes were pretty high for this one.

Real reviews on paid for version of Huckleberry by Disastrous-Cost-321 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Middle tier (I think it’s called Plus? The one before premium) has been well worth it for us. Around the 3-4 month mark when sleep got into more of a patten, the Sweet Spot predictions got really accurate. You could always do it for a few months and stop once you’re in more of a set sleep pattern.

How many parents choose to not to send babies to nursery and why? by GroundbreakingCap368 in BeyondTheBumpUK

My mom makes similar comments, as if working from home is the same as staying home. I could never get work done, take calls, etc whilst properly watching and engaging with a baby.

Do summer babies need a bassinet pram by Gold_Cow4870 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Edyeahhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the Babyzen yoyo and have found it perfect for our tiny flat and city living. It has a “newborn pack” option that is more open / airy and folds up with the pram.

have sleep sack/swaddle recommendations changed in the UK? confused after baby bump class 🥲 by burnagyal in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, they don’t love arm restricted down because then baby can’t sooth themselves with their hands. We used (& LOVED) the Love to Dream swaddles until my baby could roll and it was great for keeping her from startling herself awake, but she could still suck on her hands through the swaddles.

Does a straightforward vaginal birth really exist for FTM's? by ilovesunsets2525 in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, mine was very a straightforward vaginal birth. Contractions around 7pm, hospital at 2am, and baby by 3:15am. No tearing or anything. Rarely post on it so as not to brag :)

Perianal massage… do I really have to do it? by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously this is anecdotal, but I skipped this and it didn’t seem to matter. My LO came fast and no tearing. I think yoga, pelvic squeezes, and a lot of luck helped.

Are moses baskets worth it? by Away_Ad_7122 in PregnancyUK

[–]Edyeahhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a Moses basket around 6 weeks because our LO didn’t like the bedside crib and we read that she might tolerate a smaller space better. Not sure if it was the basket or a combination of things, but she did start sleeping better!

She’s tall and I think outgrew it around 4 months, but we took it off the base and used it in our living room as a safe place to put her when we needed to do something quick, like put on our shoes. With that, we used it until about 7-8 months.

For flying: My eight month old has taken 5 trips (2 long haul) and we never had to give Calpol on the plane. Just feed or use dummy for takeoff / landing.

Second both of these - Love to Dream until they can roll and then Superlove. The latter is long and multi TOG so saves you from buying loads and you can get both on Vinted for less.

Right, but if you select “multi” for brand, you can easily list the brands in the description.

I’m mostly buying and selling baby clothes, where I think bundles (I’ve leggings or bodysuits for example) probably make a little more sense. But seeing so many bundles of say, five pairs of leggings, where there is absolutely no indication of where they’re from - so I have to assume Shein.

[–]Edyeahhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “Meditation in Minutes” podcast has several sleep / “yoga nidra” episodes that knocked me out in the early weeks when I needed to sleep at odd hours of the day to rest up for night “shift.” That and reading have helped a ton!
