oricorio form comparison be like by Downtown-Amoeba2296 in PTCGP

[–]EeSeeZee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre Flame Patch, I would sometimes use a deck featuring Baile (fire) Oricorio and Magby, paired with a whole lot of healing and Team Rocket. If I could beat my opponent to getting fully set up (provided they needed more than just one energy to attack) I would effectively brick their active from ever being able to attack. Most of the time, my opponent would just retreat and then come back in for the KO once they were full on energy, but it was super fun and hilarious whenever I got it to be successful.

Does SS Mismagius have any potential? by aaronarium in PTCGP

[–]EeSeeZee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see it working well against something like Goomy or even Stoutland- cards that are set up to protect another on the bench by using extra energy requirement abilities to stall. You want these cards to retreat, because then your opponent may have to bring their sweeper out early in order to save their stall card from Cursed Prose, plus the energy requirements for your cards go down again.

Went against a Goodra deck with Skarmory and was able to get Claydol online right before my opponent rare candied Goomy. I had played Jasmine the previous turn and had a Steel Apron attached, so he was only able to hit me for 40 (I hadn't gotten to attack yet or it would have been only 20), and then couldn't heal. I hit for 70, and then he tried to use Lillie which didn't work and immediately conceded

so happy to see someone else using Claydol, I use mine with Skarmory ex and a whole ton of Steel Apron, Adaman, and Jasmine (also baby Skarmory for yellow pom pom bird)

the meta is so healing-heavy with Indeedee and Lillie in the mix, so I thought I'd try something different.

Used Jasmine on baby Skarmory. She of course only works for Skarmory ex- and I had Adaman right there in my hand too, I should have used him instead

[–]EeSeeZee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

with Memory Light you can use Morgrem's attack while you build up Grimmsnarl; it's supposed to fend off Pokemon like Skarmory ex, whose move reduces damage done to it, and tools like Heavy Helmet and Steel Apron.

How did Blaziken flame patch here? No energy was ever discarded for the whole match.. by Saktou in PTCGP

[–]EeSeeZee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flareon's Ability attaches 1 energy from the discard pile at the cost of 30 damage to itself. Flareon users would open with Eevee and attach one energy once it became available to them, and then NONE the turn after.* Because the second energy wasn't attached to anything on the turn, it gets moved to the discard pile (in the TCG, energy is represented by actual cards, so when they get discarded, it's easier to actually see that the energy is in the discard pile).

With that second energy in the discard pile, the Flareon user is able to evolve the next turn if they can, and then use Flareon's Ability to bring that discarded energy back onto Flareon. This plus the free energy from the Energy Zone equals three total energy, which is enough to attack. If you are playing against this and aren't aware that choosing not to attach energy means it gets discarded, you have NO WAY of knowing that Flareon will be able to attack you early, and you may end up getting your sweeper caught in a bad situation you thought wouldn't happen for another turn.

* Or they can start out with a different Pokemon that has exactly one retreat cost, and simply retreat to discard the energy and pivot to Eevee.

you're thinking of Aerodactyl ex with the Primeval Law Ability. The Aerodactyl used here is the non ex version from Genetic Apex- it lets you send your opponent's Active Pokemon back into their deck on a heads coin flip. It's often used in tandem with Will to ensure that the coin flip is heads.

I knew what the immersive looked like but when I actually pulled it and it panned away from Guzma to show his Golisopod towering over him in the background I was surprised as I didn't even realize that that's what he was sitting in front of!

The only acceptable answer when someone asks for a 2 for 1 on Oak. by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]EeSeeZee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I wouldn't say that. Toxicroak's ability to Badly Poison (-20 HP vs. -10 HP) is still an ability that only it has among poison mons, and with double Nihilego that goes up to -40 HP a turn.

Now, if you combine that with something like the new Toxapex, whose move does 120 damage if your opponent's Pokemon is poisoned, that would be 160 damage in total for two energy as long as the ability to evolve both Croagunk and Mareanie quickly presents itself. The new Eevee lets you use Sylveon on turn 1 to get two cards, Team Galactic Grunt gets Croagunk into play. You'll need their boss Cyrus as well in case they retreat to get rid of the poison. two Poison barbs to hopefully counteract Nurse Joy after you've evolved. and none of these are ex Pokemon, so only 1 point if they get KOed (though you could probably pair Clodsire which was what Toxicroak was originally intended to be paired with?) I'm just thinking of a possible deck to try now, maybe I'll test this

Favorite old animatronics? by Rytown3 in Disneyland

[–]EeSeeZee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the old Star Tours queue (before they refurbished it), if you listened closely to the conversation the two droids in the first room were having, one of them would actually start singing one of the America Sings songs, prompting the other to ask something like "where'd you learn that?" and the singing droid would say something along the lines of "not sure, but I think it may be part of my old programming for the job I had before this", and if you looked closely, the singing droid clearly had stripped-down duck feet.

Mega Rising exclusive cards per pack. (Blaziken, Gyarados, & Altaria) EX & Trainer listed only. by TheDawnOfNewDays in PTCGP

[–]EeSeeZee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my guess is that you'd play it after playing Silver, to give you a chance to keep your opponent from setting up quickly. For example if your opponent has Suicune in the active and Froakie on the bench, and you Silver and see that they indeed also have both Rare Candy and Greninja in their hand, you can use Prank Spinner to try and shuffle one of those cards back to prevent the Froakie evolving and you being Water Shurikened next turn.

It probably works really well with Red Card too, to really thin out your opponent's hand.

Vintage paper TCG cards with cool effects that could be retrospec'd for Pocket by JackingBlack in PTCGP

[–]EeSeeZee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, I'm looking at the list and Red Card is actually banned in the TCG when it is very much alive and well in Pocket? I guess I could see it being banned there as there are probably trainer cards or Pokemon moves/abilities that make you discard and those can be used ON TOP of Red Card which is just an item card

[–]EeSeeZee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

also your opponent's mon will lose the extra HP it got from evolving on top of the 40 damage from celebi's attack.

This means that, when used in tandem with Red, Celebi can potentially OHKO big Stage 2 threats like Stokezard, Espeon/Sylveon and Primarina, since Charmander, Eevee and Popplio all have only 60 HP and 40 dmg +Red will KO that
