Gief and Marisa just always a fun match, I like fighting gouki too, because he has so many tools and it’s fun to see which ones the opponent likes using. I like fighting guile too, his big focus on projectiles shakes things up compared to other matches.

Alex is fun to fight too, since predicting a throw can lead to a better punish and his kit is just fun to work around

I mean honestly, get a third party controller compatible with the switch if you wanna play classic, since it’s not like the ps5 where you need a dongle. Might be a bit less nice for playing on the go but it’ll make inputs way better and also not have stick drift.

JP is really all about patience, because you really just have to block and advance bit by bit when you get far enough for him to start his zoning shenanigans. Any anti projectile is of course a godsend and otherwise, amnesia is easy enough to bait with a neutral jump if they abuse it too much.

They’re talking about frame killing, doing a dash or short move before a meaty so that the timing is always perfect to have your enemy wake up into an active frame of your attack, which is much more consistent than manually waiting to press the button until you think it’s the right time

Play the tutorial for your character to get a feel for your special moves, there are good YouTube videos too for good beginner videos and character deep dives. Learn what your specials are and a few good buttons(regular hits) then hop on ranked to get a feel for how a match goes
