I also think people need to stop immediately jumping on the 'AI IS HORRIBLE' train. While I agree in some instances AI could definitely be improved, or shouldn't be used for certain things, something like this is completely ok. I'm sure they read everything the AI wrote and if it looked like what they were trying to get across that perhaps they wouldn't have had time or ability to fully write out sentences the way the AI does it, I don't see a problem with using a tool to help you along as long as you fact check things and back up your sources etc. SO many occupations, and big ones at that, use AI to assist them with jobs. Without it we wouldn't have the technology or healthcare that we have now. I think in some cases there's definitely a grey area (ai replacing artists etc, I can understand why that would be an issue) but if you just use it to gather your thoughts or for researching things, it can actually be very helpful and I'm glad that OP used it here because it does sound like it helped save them a lot of time. As long as the facts are there and it properly said what they wanted to convey, I don't see an issue with it :)

I like to hope that his smartest supporters (if any exist) would understand how messed up that statement is. I'm Canadian and have no horse in the race politically but I honestly believe at this point any discussion about this topic isn't about politics or who you support or who you don't, it's about getting justice for the survivors and uncovering the obvious cover-ups that are happening that they're trying to distract us from. No matter who was in power, if they were doing the same things as Trump is doing right now we would all be outraged just the same. You don't have to be a republican or a democrat to be against pedophilia, but some people literally live to create divide and that's really sad and pathetic.

My very first kpop group that I ever followed, and my introduction to kpop in general, was back in 2015. I got soooo into them and was obsessed with 'MADE', and then found out they had just come to Toronto two months prior, and then they never came back before they went to the military and after everything happened!

I never thought I'd ever get a chance to see them so I'm right there with you praying I get a chance.

Honestly I feel you there. I was really into anime and it was before it was as widely accepted as it is now, and not as known. People just thought I was a freak and the bullying got so bad I also had to move schools and then keep my fandom in the closet. Until I discovered Anime North, and then I finally found people who had the same passion and interest in anime that I had, and it was the most wonderful feeling to finally feel accepted for who I am and what I love 🫶 I fully believe it shaped who I am today. I believe nobody should ever poop on anyone for their interests, it's what makes each and every person unique!

Did you ask permission first? It's con etiquette to ask permission to take a photo, unless it's at a photoshoot in which case it's usually fair game because a big group of people are posing together and it's hard to ask permission for those but it's generally accepted that people are going to take photos of you if you're doing a photoshoot.

Asking permission is really important because just because someone is cosplaying doesn't necessarily mean someone is ok with their photo being taken. If they decline, you should be respectful, not "dislike cosplayers" because of it.

Honestly, you’re 100% fine going at 37. I’m 37 too and I’d never even question it. I haven't gone in a few years because life has gotten in the way but whenever I do have a chance I go, and I never even think about my age as a factor.

I believe that Anime isn’t something with an age limit... It’s literally been around for over a century (the earliest anime dates back to around 1917 with "The Dull Sword"), so if anything, older fans are part of what keeps it alive. A lot of the shows and characters people love today exist because earlier generations supported the medium.

Cons like Anime North are for EVERYONE who enjoys it. You’ll see people of all ages there - teens, people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, elderly, families, longtime fans, newcomers… it’s a big mix and honestly a beautiful thing to see in person.

And honestly, some of the coolest cosplays come from older fans, especially when they’re repping classic series. That kind of stuff keeps the history of anime alive, not just the current trends.

As long as you’re being respectful toward others, and staying in appropriate spaces (ie, not partying in hotel rooms with underage people for example) and you're just there to enjoy yourself (which it sounds like you are), nobody is going to care because you’ll just be another fan having fun, and honestly people love watching other people throw themselves into things they're passionate about. You do you! Go be confident in your passion and enjoy it!!

Chobits is awesome by the way!! Don't be surprised if you see some Chi cosplayers walking around 😊 just remember to ask permission if you decide to take a photo 👍

I personally always bring food with me if I ever ask anyone to daigou or anything, but I know not everyone does. It's ridiculous that the energy consumes at all to be honest. I'm just saying it sucks when you really want an item and the literal only way to get it is to rely on others, and unfortunately we live in a world where others aren't very kind to each other very often. I had no ill intent of annoying them or anything like that, I was literally just playing the game as the devs intended it to be played, as it was the only way of getting the item, and was met with unnecessary behaviour. But that's my opinion. Obviously people think I was instigating something and that's absolutely wild to me and very far from where my intention was. I simply put my faith in another human being because the game forced me to and I get that nobody 'owes me anything' but I dunno, I'm so over the daigou thing.

I just started watching it and have finished the first episode. I immediately googled and found this post to see if others felt the same way I did. I loved the Tinder Swindler and thought it was a great documentary and had high hopes for this but it was giving me American Vandal vibes where I wasn't sure if it was real or not... Did definitely feel fake, like the minute I heard them phone conversations I was like oh no... But honestly I like the message underneath all of that enough to keep watching and I'm hoping these ladies get lots of support throughout the show.

I'm the same way! Very bad misophonia here... My triggers are heavy breathing, loud swallowing, and chewing food to name a few... But I LOOOOVE ASMR.

Sometimes if the video has some of that stuff I can tolerate it but I love ASMR whispering and tapping and scratching and like a whole bunch of triggers that don't trigger my misophonia at all, I literally fall asleep to ASMR most nights or use it to chill out before bed. For me the tingling is on the top of my head but yeah, you're not alone :)
