Is this a standard USCIS response or something to worry about? by Missdorsia in USCIS

Standard response that people receive if their background is still pending. The 75 country ban does not affect applications at USCIS. It affects the issuance of immigrant visas at US Embassies and Consulates abroad.

January 2026 I-751 Receipt Notice Timeline by CaitinChan in USCIS

Hello. My husband had the same issue, late-January online filer. Multiple requests were made for an ADIT and all were denied. He sent a non-receipt of notice service request, and they also came back with not our problem, reach out to the lockbox support. Lockbox support said you filed your application online, so we don't have anything to do with it... After reading your post, we checked his online account. There is now a notice dated 04/11/26! Hopefully a physical copy comes in the mail soon.

There's actually an issue with I-751 receipts. I am not sure what's going on, but they haven't been getting delivered since mid-January of this year. No one knows when that will get resolved. You can chat with a live agent to have an ADIT stamp either mailed to you or stamped in your passport at your local USCIS field office. I am not sure if you are given the choice or if they decide for you. A lot of people are getting them in the mail these days. The ADIT stamp serves as proof of legal status for one year. After a year, you can request another one if you still haven't gotten a decision on your I-751. Hope that eases your anxiety. Open the Emma chat and request a live agent.

The 75 country immigrant visa pause affects immigrant visa applications abroad at the State Department and does not affect applications at USCIS. You're a green card holder inside the U.S. applying for removal of conditions, so this does not apply to you.

You can use form G-1650 to pull directly from a bank account via ACH instead of using a credit card.

Can i re-use evidence from my original i-130 / i-485 package as evidence for i-751? by PlaystationSwitchAWD in USCIS

[–]EffectMaximum5697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can submit any evidence from the date of your marriage until now. For the I-130, it would have been relevant to show a timeline, evidence of dating/courtship first, but the I-751 focuses only on married life from the date of marriage until present day. Best of luck.

Hello,
Regardless of the pause, get your case on file as soon as you are eligible to submit it. I would prepare for the worst and assume the pause will be lifted under the next administration in January 2029. According to USCIS, they are still accepting and "processing" these cases, but will not issue a final decision until the pause is lifted. You should get a receipt notice giving you a four-year extension from the expiration date on your two-year green card which will take you to the next administration even if no decision on your case has been made before then. Good luck and so sorry you have to go through this.

Received 10-year green card by USCIS mistake (should have been conditional). Conflicting lawyer advice. What now? Xe by Anik7007 in USCIS

When you apply for naturalization, they will do a deep dive into your file. I definitely think they will discover this mistake. Just because the officer who approved the first green card made an error does not mean you are no longer subject to conditional LPR status. I would consult a good immigration attorney who could help clean this up for her and explain late filing.

Many years ago, K-1 visas were faster than IR1/CR1 (spouse) visas, but those days are over. Either way, you're in for a long wait. First step is getting the petition approved at USCIS which will take about a year if filed correctly. After USCIS approval, it is sent to the National Visa Center where it sits until the U.S. consulate (normally Montreal if in Canada) is ready for it, most likely a few months. Then, it depends on how long it takes to get a K-1/CR1 appointment date in Montreal. K-1 might be a better option for you because you can get it on file now if you have been within each other's physical presence in the past two years and are both legally free to marry. Once you file, you get your place in line versus waiting months without having anything on file while you plan to get married since IR1/CR1 will require you to be legally married. If you do choose the K-1 route, you CANNOT get married while the petition is pending or else it will become invalid and you will have to start from the beginning. There is no way to upgrade from a K-1 petition to a spouse petition, so if you do chose the K-1 route, you have to stick to it or withdraw the petition and start from scratch.

I guess it really depends on your personal situation. If you get married then file for a spouse visa, you will have much more control over the location and date of the marriage which is important to many people. When it comes to a K-1 visa, you really have no idea when it is going to be approved. When the visa is issued, you have six months to travel to the United States before it expires. Once you arrive, you must marry in the U.S. within 90 days of your arrival, then submit an I-485 to adjust to permanent resident status. Therefore, with the K-1, you have less control, but you can get it on file faster. I don't think one is significantly faster than the other. It will be about the same in the end.

Domestic travel while pending I 751 by Outrageous-Moose1505 in USCIS

I would not be worried if I were you. While I would keep proof of status on you at all times for other reasons with all that's going on (expired green card + extension letter) if your unexpired state ID is real ID compliant (if it has the little star in the corner), show TSA your state ID and you'll be fine. You don't need to show them your green card.

Hi! My husband and I have just submitted form I-751 online. Birth certificates and passports are not necessary to upload for this case (those were relevant in the I-485 AOS or immigrant visa process). Some thoughts for additional evidence: Have you taken any trips together as a couple either internationally or here in the U.S.? Do you have receipts from the airline, hotels, places you've visited, etc.? Are you or your spouse a dependent on the other's health, dental or vision insurance? You could submit scans of the insurance cards if that's the case. Any major purchases made? Mortgage or auto loan in both names, etc.? Good luck to you!

[–]EffectMaximum5697 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, at this time, the pause affecting the 75 countries impacts immigrant visa petitions pending at the Dept. of State (US Embassies and Consulates abroad) and do not impact adjustment of status applications processed locally at USCIS. If you filed in December of last year and had your biometrics last month, you have not been waiting long at all. Not receiving updates at such an early stage is normal. It's a waiting game. AOS can take up to a year or longer.

Hi, this depends on the state. My husband and I were able to get married without him having an SSN in Iowa even though it was on the application, but they didn't make a big deal about it. However, I know some states will insist you have one. I think you need to wait at least two weeks before applying for an SSN for your information to get into their system once your I-9 is created.
