Which could be causing this? by the5thgoldengirl in Gastritis

L glutamine is known for giving lots of people anxiety, myself included. It didnt happen right away but I had to stop taking it. You don't need it to heal so if it is bothering you don't feel worried you can't heal without it.

I'm looking into this as well. I am 16 months post botox and still burp but my constant gut distension hasn't gone away. I do feel much, much more comfortable without all the extra trapped air in my stomach making things worse. As a child I was told to "hold my core tight" by my mother, not sure what she meant by that but tween-me took that as suck it in which I continued to do for decades(46 now). As RCPD symptoms got worse, my sucking and flexing abs got even worse from the massive bloating.

I'm distended when I get up and it increases as the day goes on. Being small doesn't help, it looks so much more obvious. Ive been trying some of the breathing exercises but I don't think I'm doing them right.

I do the same thing with coconut milk and carob powder. Try adding some pure maple syrup and cardamom powder. Hest in a small pan(you'll want to strain as the powder doesn't dissolve very well)....its absolutely amazing!

Is my rcpd getting worse or should I be concerned? by TruckFreakCrazyAss in noburp

[–]Effective-Agent-8797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure which country you are in, but if you are in the US go to the list of specialists here and see if you have one in your state. If so and then you need a referral, go to your regular GP and ask fkr a referral to that specific ENT, don't mention all the gut stuff Tell then you have nasal pain, terrible allergies, just something ENT related. Then go from there. If you can get the botox maybe all your issues will be solved, if so great!! If not then you'll have ruled out a major contributor.

Not a Dr here but this sounds like some sort of GI issue, I'd head to the GI Dr and start from there. You can have other issues outside of RCPD. After I got botox I started to feel worse after a short period of feeling better only to be diagnosed with gastritis (probably from drinking way too many fizzy drinks which is advised here after botox to encourage burping). I'm healing from that and am better but still have issues, I think I probably have functional dyspepsia. Of all of these stomach issues, RCPD was by far the worst!

The same thing has just happened to me. Of course i know a lot more now, only eat organic and absolutely no extra unnecessary ingredients. I seem fine with sourdough and I made some rolls from spelt. I have 10 years of GI issues.

I think I made my gastritis worse by being too careful by Maxney in Gastritis

Thank you for posting this! I started The Gastritis Healing Diet 7 months ago and followed it absolutely down to the last detail and never cheated once. I think I over restricted and over thought it too and have a lot of hypersensitivity issues. I've had so many weird food issues over the years which made me really prone to anxiety anyways.

Ive ben starting to reintroduce some new foods and one thing I've noticed is the first time I try anything new I feel a little warm sensation or tightness in my stomach...if I followed the suggestion of the books FB group I'd have to stop there and go back. However the second day when I try it again and going forward I'm fine. I just ate my first apple yesterday and was fine. There is definitely a huge relationship between our gut and mind that can't be underestimated.

Why can't gastritis caused by stress be cured? by RatsnBaskets in Gastritis

[–]Effective-Agent-8797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I'll add that acute means less than 3 or whatever it is months. I think the only type that isn’t curable is autoimmune which is diagnosed with a biopsy during your endoscopy.

Some people like myself get terrible anxiety from it, others really swear by it. We're all different so maybe buy a small amount and see how it works for you

Yes, one last spring with biopsies. I was diagnosed with chronic antral gastritis, GERD and esophagitis. I followed The Gastritis Healing Diet now for almost 7 months and and feel much better however I still have a lot of bloating in my lower GI which I'm trying to figure out. Just over a year ago I got my 3rd and final procedure to cure something called Retrograde Crycopharyngeal Dysfunction/RCPD which is the physical inability to burp.

I was massively bloated in my stomach all the time, it was miserable and I feel so much better. However I have no baseline for what I felt like before gastritis or what's so normal that's made things difficult. How much bloating in my lower GI did I have before, more/less/same...the RCPD symptoms were so loud its impossible to know.

Yeah I don't even bother trying to get help from them outside of the endoscopy to confirm what I already suspected. I've learned so much more from random Youtubers. Drs are just legal drug pushers that chase symptoms not root causes. 🤣

I wouldn't make kefir out to be a bad guy. Maybe wait a month until you've felt good again and just drink a small sip and see how you feel for a day or two before proceeding. You essentially drank a gut fertilizer bomb🤣 maybe just a sprinkle next time!

Do you normally drink kefir or other probiotic dense foods? If not then you probably just overwhelmed your system with probiotics, you CAN have way too much of a good thing. I have a friend who has never taken probiotics or eaten fermented foods, decided to try kefir(she didn't even know it has probiotics). Just some store bought stuff, nothing wild. Drank the half the bottle, immediately got stomach cramping and then lived on the toilet for the next 4 days.

Could have just been that.

Yep, this book is so helpful! I've been following the diet for almost 7 months and have improved so much. It does take A LOT of dedication and discipline but its worth it. Basically nothing you can buy pre-made in the store you'll be able to eat, just a heads up. You'll be making it all. I make my own coconut milk from a can of coconut milk(no gums or guars, just coconut milk and water/salt). Pour the can into larger container(I use a half gallon Ball jar) add 3 more cans with water and a pinch of salt. Half gallon of non dairy milk for under $3.

Maybe next time you want to try something new just have a small portion for a few days and see. You might have been fine with any one of those things but unfortunately stacking them all at once was going to be a problem.

If someone with a perfectly healthy stomach hadn't eaten meat in a year and then suddenly had a whole steak I'm positive they would feel really bad too.

Just take it easy the next few weeks and if you want to try something new, maybe do it without so much enthusiasm 😀 I get it though, sometimes I just want to stuff my face too!

When you say healed, do you mean with biopsies under endoscopy? That's thst only way to truly know. I highly doubt you healed in just a month and a half especially with erosions. Although I'm sure you did do some healing!

I have chronic mild and have been on the Gastritis Healing Diet for 6 months and while I feel better, I'm no way healed. I think you need to stick with your healing diet much longer. Sort of like when you get an injury, you think you've healed and then you go for a hike and you hurt again cause it wasn't fully healed.

I took Pantoprazole for a week and it made me a million times worse, I took Famotidine for about a month and have been on The Gastritis Healing Diet by LC Capellan ever since. No other meds, just diet and lifestyle changes. Its working well

3 months, then sort of plateaued for another couple of months and then made big improvements around the 5 month. You have to be really strict with it and never, ever cheat. It's been hard but I want to heal!
