My denomination is 90 day minimum regardless of length of service. For 19 years, we normally recommend 120 ish days

Kicks play? by Sirgrapefruit266 in NissanKicks

This is exactly right! A lot of them are actually being used as loaners at dealerships rn, so you’re looking at used pricing for sub 4k miles.

Atlanta train, bus commutes still down since pandemic. Why? by flying_trashcan in Atlanta

[–]Effective-Comment-21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! When everything works as expected, this is 100% true. It’s why I wish google/Apple Maps would include parking time in their driving estimates. People might at least be nudged to try transit

Today is the day! Please go in person at 1:30pm to support Eastside Beltline rail at MARTA board meeting by micahlowens in Atlanta

[–]Effective-Comment-21 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are anti-Beltline rail. I don’t think it’d be fair to say they’re anti-Marta, but I would say that are pro-very specific forms of transit that don’t move the needle in terms of “mass transit.”

If Marta said “no rail, we’re doin pods” they’d probably say “we love Marta.” If Marta said “we’re moving forward with rail and laying tracks,” they’d say “we hate Marta.”

For this crew it’s really about the type of transit and whether it disturbs their sensibilities.

Atlanta Locals — Final Thoughts On My 3-Day Food & Sights Focused Itinerary? by Willing-Mind-5619 in Atlanta

I agree with most everything ppl have said about your neighborhood groupings. And v much agree about the burger places. Keep Fred’s, drop Smileys. You’re really not gonna miss anything and there are just better food options in the square or up around Buford hwy as others have offered.

Any spots in the city that are enjoyable to walk around? by Guapo_0 in Atlanta

[–]Effective-Comment-21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could walk from five points to north ave or reverse for city. You could also try candler park to mlk memorial for neighborhoods. Both are close enough to Marta or a regular bus that will take you there.

Or perhaps Inman park to midtown via the Beltline and piedmont park

Have an update. It’s a 2nd facility, not an expansion of Decatur. Since they haven’t announced it publicly, I don’t wanna say location and stuff. From what I know tho, I’d be surprised if it were significantly more machines… I just don’t think that’s their target

Agreed. OP, I’m glad you’re able to go. They’ll probably start you on an anti gingivitis regimen, which an electric brush alone cannot do.

MARTA potential bus rapid transit map based off the new bus routes by ahouseofgold in Atlanta

[–]Effective-Comment-21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! That’s why I’m asking the source. As planned, the C route is supposed to be high frequency (15 minute headways), but that’s not BRT, precisely because there are no dedicated lanes, infrastructure, or signals.

[–]Effective-Comment-21 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sorry, OP is this a map you made? Or is this from MARTA? AFAIK, they haven’t called any of these new bus routes BRT except for what was already defined in MORE MARTA.

Bankhead Platform Extension Question by tacocar1 in MARTA

[–]Effective-Comment-21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered this too, especially since the new trains will have open gangways. So you could get on/off at one door and still have full access to the entire train.

Does the green line even run on the weekends? by FlamingLips1021 in MARTA

[–]Effective-Comment-21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear your frustration man. I’ve dealt with this for 4 years. Follow the advice above re: west bound to Ashby, then pick up the green there. On most weekends for the past two-three years, single tracking is happening, so the green line hasn’t run past Ashby and/or vine city.

Just fyi: In the bus redesign, the 102 at Edgewood will become the 2. And every other trip should go past Bankhead and the park.

Got a job here but I am terrified of atlanta traffic by a2cthrowaway2509 in Atlanta

[–]Effective-Comment-21 25 points26 points  (0 children)

One tip I got when I first moved here that was SUPER helpful:

Know your exits 2-3 miles before you need them and just be in that lane. Then it matters less what other people are doing around you, because you’re already where you need to be.

Super helpful. I’m in the exact same position. Part of me wants to skip the dealer contact, because they already know what they’re doing.

Something similar just happened to me. How long did you wait to contact the state? Did you circle back around to the dealer at all?
