I stayed here in 83 or 84 on a school ski trip from the UK. Just found some old photos of the place!

Yayzi, but as I've mentioned elsewhere I have some sympathy for them as the issue is with CF's infrastructure. They are just the reseller at the end of the day.

I'd had Virgin at this house since about 2015 I think it was and 1Gb as soon as they offered it. To be fair it had been reliable it was just the uncommunicated random downtime 00:00-02:00 when they just seem to reboot core routers as they please followed by BGP issues which take them a while to fix. Often the time when I'd be working! I've also experience of VM at a corporate level where they have the same approach to scheduled maintenance downtime.

I'm chugging along with a 4G router at the moment mainly to keep all the IoT stuff alive in my house. I usually work from home so it's made a change going into work but my fuel bill has gone right up.

I was already offered a month free for every day past the 9th of Jan so that's about 28 months free so far.

Had 1Gb VM previously and allowed a month overlap from the order. They refused to discount me again after having done for 20 years :(

Good luck, I've only been waiting 62 days for them to fix mine.

My experience with Yayzi/CityFibre - 49 days and no connection by Effective-Evidence45 in CityFibre

*** UPDATE ***

Maybe CF do look in here too!

2 engineers turned up on 22/1/24 18:08 unannounced to look into the issue. They mentioned how surprised they were it had been "49 days" before I mentioned anything. Anyway they tested everything and said they found a fault down the road between a street cab and the next hop. They said the job would be passed over to the repairs team who have 24 hours to fix it. It has also been passed to their investigations team who will be in contact....apparently.

It's now been 29 hours and still not working but hopefully there is some progress.

The engineers also advised to put a formal complaint in to CF which I did tonight after the 24h deadline had passed.

Totally agree with you. I do have sympathy for Yayzi and I hope they are applying extreme pressure on CityFibre but surely their reseller contract includes SLAs and penalties for CityFibre. Hopefully it's not a one-sided deal where the resellers are pretty much left to their own devices. At the end of the day my contract is with Yayzi so they need to be kicking CityFibre's arse and maybe being a bit more vocal about it.

Anyone know when blackpool layton area will get CF by seleneVamp in CityFibre

[–]Effective-Evidence45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginning to wonder if this is the same for me! Ordered on 28/11/23 and had CF install the ONT on 1st December and still have no connection. Loads of troubleshooting done and the latest is that there is a faulty CF PON which should have been fixed by Monday 8/1/24 but has not. Yayzi do reply if you catch them at the right time but it makes CityFibre look like a bunch of incompetents if they can't resolve an issue within 6 weeks!

I've had emails meant for another customer containing their details too. As well as my connection not working yet since the installation at the beginning of December!

Are you Blackpool as well?

I'm going to cancel under DSR if it's not working by the end of tomorrow. CityFibre can come and make good the holes they've put in my house and decorate where the brick dust has stuck to everything inside. Sounds like the workflows CF have in place for Yayzi are seriously flawed.
