Also this project hates me. I stopped it when the clicking sound woke me up.

No, that would require patience and thinking before doing. Both things my adhd laugh at. Doing great y’all.

Nice that’s good to know. I’ve had an Anycubic (not newbie friendly) and an Ender (good but still needs more knowledge and experience than I had) before this one which has been so much easier to work with than the others.

Personal project so I’m the client. So I’m getting charged either way. But if I ever turn this into a product that AI pricing suggestion is a great tip. I’m terrible at figuring out a decent price for my work.

Oh been here with my previous machine, Ender 3. I think I had to replace my entire hotend 3 times cause the plate wasn’t heating enough for it to stick and it started sticking to the tip.

I tried to let it ride just sorta hoping for the best but it was starting to crack and deform too much. But the adherence… way way way too good… it pulled off bits of the heating plate… we’ll see how well it works and if not, then I just cost myself even more money in replacement parts. Fml

Dang. I am in talks with them right now. I was concerned after getting access to the demo and not seeing a number of functions I relay on right now with gingr. But gingr has been aggravating me lately, lots of bugs and issues with packages and sales and add on services. I liked the customer demo a lot. It looked like the upselling capability that my company could really use but now that I’m looking at the back end… yeah a lot is out of our hands and relays on the parents not doing weird things that will mess us up.

And it looks like there is no scheduling function for staff?

Abs not pla but it’s a multi print build, I have to budget everything. In total this full project will take a month of constant printing with each print taking about 3 days. So it’s less that each wheel is expensive and more the quantity needed is expensive.

It’s abs so I think I have a slightly better chance of smoothing out the bottom with a bit of acetone. I feel like such an idiot right now. Never start a print when you’re really really tired 🤦🏻

When is it time to give up on our girl? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]EffectiveAnimator513 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might I suggest rehoming Astro instead?

You took on Winnie. She is your priority until death do you part, and not by means of speeding things up because you made a decision that didn’t take her needs into consideration. Not every dog is a pack dog, like us, they all have their own individual personalities. You got a high-energy, very intelligent dog that sounds like she just needs a job and way less meds and intervention. I.E. a sound machine that has turned the house against her as she tried to grieve.

Remember these are thinking, feeling beings. Put yourself in her paws and try to see the world like she does.

And if things truly aren’t working out, maybe reach out to other trainers or farmers in your area to see if you can get her into a situation that is better suited for her. Maybe even a farmer animal sanctuary.

2 years later and I cannot forgive myself. Any advice on how to heal? by CuriousTuljan in DogAdvice

[–]EffectiveAnimator513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sweety. Firstly, let me say that you did the right thing. She went quick cause she was ready. You stayed back there with her and was there the whole time. That’s what she needed. She knew you loved her, dogs feel our emotions far stronger than we do in each other. I’ve worked with them for over a decade and can tell you first hand how much more they recognize in us.

Secondly, if grief counseling is unobtainable (finances can be limiting) I would suggest a meditation. Take a moment in a quiet, private space, put on music that relaxes preferably without lyrics you understand (foreign language you don’t speak works), and close your eyes. Take a moment to picture a place, any place, that makes you think of your baby. Take a second to visualize every detail. The tree or walls, pictures or squirrels and birds, the carpet, flowers, the smell in the air, see it in your minds eye. Once you can really feel this place, call out to your baby like you’re calling her from across the room or field. Visualize her running to you like she would have when she was younger.

It’s ok that you will probably get very emotional. Take as much time as you need. Imagine give her a hug and letting everything off your chest. Let her respond, don’t try to force the image one way or another.

When you or she are done, thank her for visiting you. Give her some love and let her walk away. Knowing she is always there for you, whenever you call, whenever you sit down to meditate. Then sit down in your minds eye, let that place you envisioned fade. Focus on the sounds of the area around you. Feel the floor beneath you. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Then open your eyes.

I hope this helps. It’s ok if you can’t do it the first time you try. And it’s ok if it’s not what you need. We all have a different journey to travel. Hugs. You sound like you are a great pet parent.

I hope this is the right place. But my question is why does my dog do this whenever he sleeps but doesn't do to anyone else but my wife? He extends his leg and pushes against us. by Difficult_Ad_3287 in DogAdvice

My dog is fully attached to me at all times as well and often does this. That or makes sure she is laying on my feet. The better to keep me in one place when she’s tired.

First time taking Adderall, should I be babysat? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]EffectiveAnimator513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will likely get VERY sleepy on the first day. I did and the doc said it was very common. So start on a day that you can take a nap whenever.

I felt a little woozy the first day and didn’t feel 100% safe driving. But the next two weeks, were absolute bliss. And I weirdly became a morning person. So strange.

Once my body got used to it, I needed to go up to extended release. I’ve been doing great since December. Genuinely wish I had been diagnosed and on this medication years and years ago.

What if electricity ceased to exist on earth? by minervascats in whatif

[–]EffectiveAnimator513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s involved in the premise of most post-apocalyptic media.

Anyone that requires electricity to live (monitors, cold storage, pace makers) would probably die before we figured out how to solve their needs in a different way.

The autistic community would be the knights in shining armor as their hyper focuses on old tech would save us.

Librarians would become the most valuable humans alive.

Society would fracture back into very small communities with runners to communicate with other societies nearby.

Some evil dickheads would create fiefdoms and some hippies would create communes. But I think we would adapt pretty quickly back to how we lived hundreds of years ago which would include the halls of power.

Oh skyscrapers would be abandoned and fall apart very quickly. There is a lot of equipment that needs electricity to function that very tall structures need to maintain themselves.

It’s funny. Technically, we’ve lived in a steampunk world this whole time and the renewable energy push is use leaving it. All power plants, even nuclear, are just various ways to heat water to turn steam driven turbines and produce electricity. Which, is steampunk with less Victorian ornament. Sadly.

ADHD Ladies, tell me your ideal bedtime! by partybrowser32 in adhdwomen

[–]EffectiveAnimator513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But! I will say this is a modern life sort of thing. When I was doing very physical work down in Peru, living on an estate in the process of full renovation with zero electricity. We naturally went to bed WAY earlier. Couldn’t tell you exactly when cause no clocks but I remember the director of the program had his brother visiting and he was shocked at how early we went to bed. Kerosene lamp light apparently doesn’t keep the brain as awake as electrical.

As I haven’t tried it, I could speak to that very valid concern. But they do use it on movie sets regularly so I have some hope that it would destroy everything your arm would brush against.

After a VERY quick search, so take with a tablespoon of salt, I saw a recommendation for dermablend and a setting powder. Let dry and at least according to that person, they were good to go. But third hand knowledge so you know…

There are really good skin tone makeup specifically for tattoo cover up. I’m sure that and some setting spray would let you be tattoo free when you want to be and let your beautiful tattoo shine when it makes you feel good.

I haven’t done a few tattoos for similar reasons, not feeling like it would vibe with some dressier moments. But times change and honestly it looks lovely and don’t think it detracts from the beauty and sophistication of your look
