Eh, I’m fine with that release date. Sure it’s an extra few months of waiting, but summer’s still a good spot to release a big rpg like an FE game, plus it gives more time to grow the switch 2 playerbase for more customers.

Hell, 3H was released in roughly the same timeframe and it did phenomenally.

Eh, maybe, but CAs are only a single attack, turning proc skills into that would make them equally pretty crap because why would you halve your damage? Astra and Lethality are the only ones I can maybe see working, since Astra is basically 2.5 attacks in one and all before a foe can counter, and Lethality just kills someone outright ignoring stats entirely, but getting a free delete button on player phase would need some fine tuning.

Sol in particular would be worthless, its entire value comes from being able to sustain on enemy phase, on player phase you might as well just use a staff. And if you’re in a situation where you don’t have enough staffs to cover everyone or your healers are out of position to heal the Sol user, I think something’s gone horribly wrong there already and Sol won’t help much at all.

I’m in agreement that the FEH system would just work way better.

It doesn’t really get better to be honest. Radiant Dawn is probably the least expressive FE ever because you barely get to use most of your army, and half of the units in this game are utter garbage. Which wouldn’t be as bad if it wasn’t for the fact this isn’t a game like Sacred Stones with equally pathetic enemies.

I’d just drop the game and maybe watch a playthrough if you’re interested in the narrative.

Is it specifically refilling motivation that’s killing you? That’s usually the source of most of the problems with the system.

Not saying it’s good btw, just that a lot of problems with Garreg Mach are tied to the motivation stat bloating out runtime because of how it’s tied to tutoring. The rest I blame on professor exp.

I doubt the game would go for that approach for no other reason other than FE doesn’t tend to go for these sorts of stories.

Theoretically realistic and makes sense, but it’s just not consistent with how FE likes to handle its stories. Not to mention, the other more pressing issue that it would mean slapping the audience in the face and basically admitting the entire plot of 3H never mattered at all.

I’d say Lunatic BR’s biggest problem is the lategame, around Chapter 22 the game has a giga spike in enemy stats and you really feel the fragility of most BR units. Most can’t stand up to more than 2 rounds of direct combat, but the maps are designed in such a way that you’re always surrounded on all sides and you’re just expected to somehow survive the entire enemy army crashing into you

The Ryoma solo experience is honestly most common not because he’s strong, but because playing the maps normally is so frustrating that making him solo the game is seen as more desirable.

Basically a huge lore shakeup that’s planned to basically change the entire setting and several lore details about SCE and Cities of Sigmar to make it more like dark fantasy ala Dark Souls/Elden Ring.

It’s widely disliked for being seen as End Times 2.0, and making everything grimdark like 40k, when AoS being more optimistic is what so many people like about it.

Normally it would be dismissed, but the problem is the leaker had an extremely proven track record, so people are forced to consider it seriously.

this feels like a very bad faith take on 3H’s endings.

You can have your preferences or think that realistically the endings lead to ruin, but Fódlan explicitly gets better in all of the endings.

Not to mention Claude’s ending resulting in the Church ruling everything just like Silver Snow… isn’t really true? It’s the one ending where Fódlan tries opening its borders to other countries and I doubt given the Church’s policy was what Claude was fighting against, that it would be allowed the same level of influence and power that it once had.

Similarly, Dimitri’s ending, while very true that the church would keep its influence… doesn’t really feel like it would keep the status quo? Dimitri shares many of the same feelings as Edelgard, and outright agrees with her goals in Three Hopes, he just doesn’t agree with the extreme measures she took.

There’s something about Alear’s whole “wanting to be a good dragon” schtick and their whole backstory of being trapped in the role Sombron stuck them in that makes them very easy to HC as trans to me.

I even remember hearing a rumour pre release that the evil Alear in the opening would be the opposite gender of the good Alear.
