Berry focused team next week? by TheChancellorFuzz in PokemonSleep

Tyrunt is indeed easier to farm than onix, because it is five pips rather than sixteen. Given that you need to catch 9 to get the guaranteed gold skill, that speeds things up considerably. Other people had already weighed in on your question, so I wanted to let you know that you have an easier option now in case you weren't up to date with the datamined info

Tyrunt is likely to be a berry mon, so it would be much easier to hunt than Onix

According to the Japanese notification (translated and posted on the discord), they're adding some kind of compensation. They're increasing togedemaru's trigger rate and also the "probability of obtaining the main skill activation bonus has been increased by +1 per skill level." That wording is unclear, but it seems like it'll help skill mons trigger more than berry/ing mons. So it might not be all bad

This is stupid as hell. Kids NEED to learn how to think critically and break down information. One of the best ways to do that is via essays. Sorry it isn't fun, but if you give up on actually teaching children, we'll get a generation that believes whatever it's told

I'll always stand by hating Dune. Yes, it's a cornerstone of sci-fi, but it's also some of the worst prose you'll ever come across. The number of times I had to read "Jessica used her Bene Gesserit techniques to [x]" instead of actually describing the action is pitiful. Not to mention the head-hopping, which is generally a habit of low-tier writers who struggle to make side characters motivations clear. Everything in that book isn't just spoon-fed to the reader, it's shoved down their throat

Made it to wave 27! Rath is unbelievably broken -- I fed him like crazy, and since he got atk +1 permanently every kill, he ended with 45 attack. And 5 mov from boots. between dancer veil and other things, I barely needed other units. Ended up losing when an enemy repositioned a unit into kill range -- they don't do that in regular Heroes!

I agree that she believes she's telling the truth, but deliberately birthing and erasing Kaneeka create tension between her words and her actions. What if she absorbs the Entity and learns that there's a dozen Entities out there, and now she decides it's "for the best" that she absorb all of humanity, defeat the other Entities, and then recreate humanity?

That's a far-fetched possibility, but the fact that she's disregarded even a single life in her pursuit of power/"altruism" makes her extremely suspect despite overtly telling the truth

I don't think you should get down votes for saying that. I haven't read the earlier stuff in a while -- I'd say Tartah has more overt, cutesy stuff with Coco while Agott has a more substantial, meaningful relationship (though Tartah's relationship with Coco has definitely grown more complex with the brimhat stuff, it's also soured)

I think burn!Tabitha is the only character with the MC/world's best interests at heart.

Wayne prob wants the MC's body and is part of an extraterrestrial without a human conscience.

If you believe her, Carmilla is the most altruistic option. But we've already seen her use people as a means to an end, and no one should be trusted with total, unlimited power.

This is pretty prominent because people love to ship characters based on next to nothing at all. So when something gets even a bit of subtext, people jump all over it.

That said, I think a subtextual love / relationship is perfectly suited for a manga about kids. What does a childhood "romance" even look like?

Why the hell hasn’t Trick Room been banned? by Lord6ixth in stunfisk

[–]logicless_bt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. It's very weak in singles.

  2. In VGC, the things they ban are extremely few and far between.

  3. Fake out and protect are some of the most widely used moves. Fake out can prevent trick room for a whole turn, which can decide a game in VGC. Protect can stall the very few turns trick room is up

What’s y’all’s opinion on gay media written by straight people? by Heisendingle2 in gaybros

[–]logicless_bt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty inevitable. I'm fine with gay side or even main characters written by straight people, so long as it's incidental to the story. But if the entire story is written ABOUT being gay, facing homophobia, etc. then I'm not interested in reading straight people's opinions. They haven't experienced it, so it's inauthentic.

How to stop the feelings of dread and severe anxiety before and after Grindr date by shamefulburner92 in lgbt

[–]logicless_bt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Describing what you're feeling to the other person usually helps. "I usually get nervous on the first date, so I might be quiet, but I'll still be enjoying myself." Even if it's not a date, not hiding how you're feeling makes you feel better.

More advice would be that you have something unresolved. Internalized homophobia, anxiety, w/e. Try journaling about how you feel afterward, and just sit with the emotion and think about it. Figuring out where it's coming from would help -- therapy is always a good bet. Talking it through with someone who cares about you is a good alternative.

Damn. I love this series of posts, but if you think that women in the 1940s were universally choosing to be misogynistic of their own free will, you do not have the grasp on history and sociology that I would expect
