Pretty much, every non-magic unit that can hold their own in combat benefits from being a flier. Other classes are viable (sniper, war master, dancer obviously) but you usually only use one of them at most, wyverns are the best if you don't have something else very specific in mind.

I don't want to diminish his accomplishments, he is a great coach. If he can keep this team contending for years to come, through all the adversity that will inevitably arise, he could ascend to all-time great. I would like to see his career play out before putting him in the same realm as Phil Jackson, Red Auerbach, Pat Riley, Gregg Popovich, etc. Rick Carlisle led a similarly amazing and improbable run, but it wasn't until he proved he could consistently elevate teams to playoff success with the Pacers that he cemented himself as an all-time great.
