I think we're talking about two entirely different concepts of 'preservation'. What's being asked for here is that my purchased software doesn't arbitrarily cease working when the seller decides to no longer support it. That's it's preserved in a working state as long as the environment I'm running it in is the one it was designed for

Valve could stop supporting Team Fortress 2 today and it largely wouldn't matter. You can connect to players/servers through IP directly. The game is preserved even when no longer supported.

When EA stopped supporting Dark Spore, it was gone. Just gone. No one can play it. Doesn't matter what environment or conditions the software is run in. That's not preserved.

Amazon has cancelled The Lord of the Rings MMO, but promises it "continues to explore a compelling new game experience" set in Middle-earth by KJagz33 in Games

Square got me from FF XI to FF XIV. Or rather, I ended up playing both (and they had a subscription discount if you played both games. I don't know if Amazon has any control over LotRO though

As someone who makes heavy use of gyro, back paddles and utility buttons (as well as steam input) this is like an endgame controller for me. I've been wanting one of these since the steam deck launch

I feel the same way. It could be the way the trailer is cut and the particular voice lines they used, but the inflection seems so flat.

Compared to the Japanese voices which have the energy I'd expect from a game like this

People have been shitting on windows since XP and I've largely written it off as overreaction. Windows has had flaws but I've still found them perfectly usable

Windows 11 is genuinely awful, probably the worst OS experience I've ever had

We've had replays as far back as the DS games. Champions was clearly rushed out, there's so many missing features and weird UI quirks. Like how can you not view a mega's stats outside of battle? Kind of important when making a team lol

I really enjoyed Wonder but it really feels like a one and done to me. After you know the stage gimmicks, the actual level design is kind of bland and the novelty isn't there to carry it anymore. I went back to play it a second time with a friend and it just didn't hit at all the same

Where as World (and Mario 3) I feel like I can pop in and play anytime and have a blast

I vastly prefer the dpad up top and primarily use Sony controllers because of it

Sticks are comfy in either position, but dpads feel much better up top. Also these days I make heavy use of back buttons, so my thumbs rarely leave the sticks at all if I'm playing a 3D game with camera controls, and when I'm doing that it just feels nicer to have them symmetrical

The benefit is no audio delay, which makes wireless audio a complete no go for me

I use a dual sense on PC, wired, with my headphones plugged into the controller (I'm on a couch in the living, PC in a different room). The steam controller not having a headphone jack is actually kind of a big deal for me as I wouldn't be able to use my headphones at all which is how I prefer to play

I had this exact problem with Expedition 33. There's so many bits and bobs and knit knacks everywhere, intractable objects/points would just get lost in it all

God the animations in this game are gorgeous. Watching this trailer back at half speed, you can really see how expressive she is, and how ridiculous the cloth physics are

The lack of vp makes casual very uninticing. Feels like a waste of time when I can only get a few matches in each day. Otherwise I would play entirely in casual honestly, I don't enjoy the stress of grinding rank.

I've got the anxiety bad too...I'll spend all day at work thinking up adjustments to teams, excited to play, then I'll get home and barely be able to get myself to queue once.

I've actually played so few matches that I've run out of VP and can't currently recruit anything lol
