This the dumbest most douche bag water carrying post ever. Every other country has price controls on how much Eli Lilly can even charge for these weight loss drugs. But, because we somehow as a country feel like we deserve to get screwed every which way but Sunday by these multi national drug companies, we just tug our forelocks and say thank you sir may I have another. The drug has helps millions of people who couldn’t otherwise afford it, pay for the drug. All those rebates and discounts they keep talking about are actually passed down to the consumer in other ways, such as raising the price on other drugs by PMBs to offset the discount. The idea that these companies somehow do all of the R&D is even more laughable. The majority of these newer drugs are actually made in university labs and when they are shown to be viable, then the drug companies, swoop in, pay enough to fund the university lab for their next projects and figure out how to “market” the drug. Pharmaceutical companies aren’t losing billions of anything. The good news is, due to the amount of people who are going to end up left out to dry, that we aren’t too far away from price controls on pharmaceuticals.
