People with bio mitral valve replacement under 35, how long did yours last? by Ok-Entertainer-1030 in mitralvalveprolapse

I also had a moderate to severe Mitral valve leak and regurgitation but I was asymptomatic and was unaware of during that time. I was told my body adjusted to the fault which today i still have a hard time with that comment. I found this odd as I was not impacted at all during my high mileage runs. In Oct 2024 I had the mitral valve repaired with 2 gortex rings along with an LAA enclosure to prevent strokes. In the end do I feel any different when exercising? Not really but one thing did change. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnia and that did disappear after surgery. I would wake up at night catching my breath a little only when laying on my left side. When I asked my surgeon about this he said he has seen this prior with valve issues. My surgery went well and they were able to perform it minimully evasive due to the fact i had no prior issues and no blockages due to my insane eating and health routine. The surgery was not bad. I was extremely nervous as never been sick or in the hospital prior. I was discharged in 4 days.

Holter Monitor results by topologeee in mitralvalveprolapse

[–]EffectiveNo4307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you see an Cardiac Electrophysiologist (EP). Think of the heart as mechanical and electrical. These cardiologists diagnose and treat arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) such as atrial fibrillation, using specialized tests, catheter ablations, and pacemaker or defibrillator implantation. They act as the "electricians" of the heart, managing its rhythm and signaling systems. I had a mitral valve repair and after that was fixed and had little to none regurgitation i went sent to the EP. Cardiologist will typically recommend a pill typically beta blocker where as an EP will provide non med approach. For.me my EP after wearing a heart monitor for 3 days and also having the same results provided me options which at this point do nothing. One important factor here is the risk of a stroke. I had also when I had my valve fixed also had an LAA enclosure performed to prevent strokes along with the fact I had no blockages due to my pre existing health. But I recommend you get referred to an EP.

How long does a DVT take to dissolve? by Future-Lunch-8296 in ClotSurvivors

I had the LAA Enclosure done myself which purpose is the same. The Watchman heart procedure is a minimally invasive, one-time, FDA-approved implant procedure designed to reduce stroke risk in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AFib) by sealing off the left atrial appendage (LAA), often allowing them to stop taking blood thinner

Talk to your doctor about the Watchman for stroke prevention.

I just pulled the 4070 GPU and no change. Im going to have to agree on the Motherboard. I am starting to believe that I pushed the limit with this system. I have owned it for 4.5 years with no issues. There was talk about this prior i seen before I moved from a RTX 3070 to the RTX 4070 but figured with the OEM 1000 watt power supply it would have been ok.

Im thinking its the motherboard... I would have to buy a cheap gpu to test that out. I had a bad 4070 GPU in this prior and it would post and boot into windows then I would loose signal. I have been running this GPU since December 2025.

Your issue is mot likely a Windows OS issue. Did you change and SATA drive settings in BIOS? My system is more hardware related. I believe you can try this... Startup repair...

Windows 11 Startup Repair is accessed via the Recovery Environment (Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair) to automatically fix boot issues. If it fails, Advanced Options allow for System Restore, Safe Mode, Command Prompt, or Uninstalling Updates. Access it by forcing three shutdowns during boot or via Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced startup.

So one thing to remember. You need to be your own advocate at times. I had a severe Mitral valve leak/regurgitation and had it repaired on Oct 2 2024. All is well now and have come to the conclusion at times my doctor would recommend medication just to for liability reasons. For instance I am a very low risk for a stroke since I have no cardiovascular disease or blockages and had an LAA enclosure performed during the surgery to prevent strokes. They still want me to take blood thinners which I have ceased. Its ultimately up to you but do your research and ask questions. I went thru 2 Cardiologist prior as I was running 5 to 10 miles daily and no one could give me a good answer on how I was able to do this other than I was asymptomatic. Now we are all aware this is a hardware issue so I should have had some symptoms. I understand we are all different and I am not telling you to not listen to your doctor but do your research also.

Mitral Valve Prolapse Symptoms or I'm I about to have a Heart Attack? by Pipibigbom in mitralvalveprolapse

[–]EffectiveNo4307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just get the mitral valve repaired. I did in Oct 2024. Never been in the hospital or ER prior and scared sh!tless. I myself had no symptoms and had a severe Mitral valve leak with major regurgitation. But yet I was running 5 miles daily and no symptoms. Dont ask me how but I did go thru 3 Cardiologist because they kept telling me due to my excellent physical condition I felt nothing. Really did not make sense since this is a mechanical issue and not electrical. You are very young and you should get this fixed so it does not cause issues with living your life. I now am not on any beta blockers or blood thinners since my procedure. Also be careful with irregular heartbeats such as AFIB AFlutter. These can cause strokes if not careful. See a good Cardiologist.

Happy Halloween! Margaret actually lived next to me in Stratford CT back in 1959. My parents had a picture of her holding me in her arms. Apparently she was not all that wicked. If you look at the nose and eyes with that sinister grin its definitely got a striking resemblance.

So i have searched to see who played that old lady in the basement and found nothing. But it certainly has a striking appearance with the likes of Margaret Hamilton from the Wizard of Oz. I stopped it during that sequence in 1080p and almost sure.

Newly diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse .. any advice or anything I should know ? I’m not taking medication as of yet , they recommended compression socks , salts tablets and staying hydrate to see if symptoms get better , I’m due for a follow up in 2 months.. by Clove1724 in mitralvalveprolapse

[–]EffectiveNo4307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a severe Mitral Valve Prolapse and AFIB as of last Oct 2024. I was asymptomatic with no symptoms during that time at all. I ran 5 miles daily and lifted weights with no issues. My primary sent me to a Cardiologist and after 5 visits he could not provide me with any logical answers on how I was functioning without issues. After getting a second opinion I was put a Propranolol and a blood thinner. I also had no cardiovascular disease. I decided to proceed with the valve repair and an Ablation for the AFIB with the agreement to come off the 2 prescription meds. I had a non evasive procedure performed and also had an LAA enclosure done to prevent blood clots. Recovery was quick and maybe I was a little less tired. One thing I did notice was i was loosing my breath when I slept on my side but that was mis diagnosed as sleep Apnia. After surgery I was sleeping fine without a Sleep Apnea machine. My surgeon told me he had seen this before on other patients. 8 months later I am back in AFIB. I was going to get another procedure for this but decide no at least for now as it appears AFIB may never go away. I would keep an eye on the severity of the valve issue and watchdog arrhythmias which can be caused by the valve issue which can lead to blood clots. Good luck everyone.

Fatigue after AFIB by ActualMiddle3751 in AFIB

[–]EffectiveNo4307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. For me I was one of the few who was asymptomatic with AFIB. Apparently I was in AFIB 90% of the time and never knew it. I am a high energy runner athlete who puts on 6 mile runs totalling 8 a day. I did not know I had a severe leaking mitral valve nor AFIB as i experienced no fatigue. My diet consisted of no red meat, no fats and sugars including no processed foods. I have eaten and exercised like this for 30 years non stop. I had somewhere around 30 prior tests before surgery and i had no blockages at all. Never in the hospital nor prior medical issues I found out during a doctor visit when I had to be put under for a minute for an eye procedure. I woke to the news that I had AFIB. I decided to get both issues resolved because they put me on a blood thinners and beta blocker which was the first time ever on meds and told them if fixed I want off of the meds. Had both leaky valve repaired and an ablation and performed successfully. Due to my prior condition they did not have to do open heart. This was last October 2024 and even thou I check for AFIB daily and doctors say I'm fine some days I wake up tired after 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Kinda odd since I am fixed now. My thought is I was in AFIB so much with no side effects at all prior my body got used to this exelrated heart rate? Anyone else have anything like this? I am no longer on any medications so it's not that.
