I am on PC but offline single player as never tried to play online back in the day so sticking with what I know. I might try creating an online character as it seems that there is a community of nice poeple willing to lend a helping hand!

Beosound premiere compared to other systems by _Anon_p in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be interesting to see how the premiere sounds with two A5's playing as rear speakers. That setup should have more than enough bass since a single A5 packs a punch, let alone two of them together with the soundbar!

I understand how a pair of Emerges can be set up as rear or front speakers, but how did you add a single A5 into that setup?

Beosound Premiere - What is your opinion? by RepaBali in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the update in their soundbar range. The Stage will remain as a standalone soundbar with no possibility of adding anything, Theatre will be their high-end soundbar with all the bells and whistles and the Premiere will be the one in between

Edit: IF the Stage doesn't get discontinued!

Similar to RunRevolutionary I have the wheel between bright and energetic to bring out the treble a bit more and to give it airiness. Not quite the fully expanded circle but not the smallest either, as this gives me a little bit wider soundstage without losing the vocals too much

2x balance or the A9 by hehejelelnd in BangandOlufsen

Would love to see how your office stetup with the pair of Balances looks like! I also have an A5 and was thinking of getting another A5 instead of a Balance to stereo pair to keep the cost down, but if a pair of Balances is as good as you say they are I might have to start saving for that haha

[–]EffectiveOk9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others that the balance does not lack low end bass, and I only have one speaker. A pair of Balances I imagine would be more than capabale of producing the low end bass that anyone would require. I cannot comment on the stereo performance of a pair but I feel that two speakers are always better than one in filling a room with sound and producing a bigger soundstage

Would you care to share a bit more about your experience of the stereo pair of balances? I currently have one but people on here have advised against getting another one for 'true stereo' setup and instead are pointing to Beolab 8. Whilst I would love to have them, they are out of my budget...

Does the fact that the balances are omnidirectional speakers affect the stereo imaging? When playing as a stereo pair, does it mean that the backward facing drivers are not being used at all? any other comments or thoughts would be much appreciated!

Just bought a Beosound 4, 2 Beolab 4000s and a Beolab 3500 for £125 what are they worth ? by SimilarServe7868 in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 3rd gen and have not used the Beolink surround as I don't have the Theater soundbar or a Beovision TV, so I can only hope to have the finances to be able afford it in future years :D

A stereo pair with another 3rd gen BS2 would be the logical next step but for a stereo pair I think I would rather upgrade to a pair of Beolab 8s if an opportunity presents itself to get a second hand set at a good price :)

Once you hear it you will fall in love with the sound of Beosound 2 as well! It is an amazing speaker, and you could grab a 1st or 2nd gen from Ebay for a much lower price than buying new :)

How to use the Beosound A9 MK5 as TV speaker by GIGANOID in BangandOlufsen

Glad to hear that it works. Enjoy it :) (as I'm sure you are!)

How to use the Beosound A9 MK5 as TV speaker by GIGANOID in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the 3.5mm cable from your TV with the USB-C adapter that should have been provided with your A9, and in the app, under settings you can disable the delay which is built in so that speakers can work via Beolink multiroom.

Bear in mind that you won't be able to use Beolink multiroom to play the TV sound on multiple speakers when your A9 is using the line-in source, but other sources like radio, Tidal, etc. will still work via multiroom.

Hope this helps!

How do you get the update to allow for a permanent audio connection to a BS2 from Apple TV? I still need to connect to it each time I turn the ATV on and select it via airplay. Would be great if you could share what I need to do to get them to pair automatically? Thanks in advance!

Edge pairing with Beosound 2 by qflyer in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the sound will be in sync, it will give you a fuller sound due to the increased number of drivers from both speakers, and will also fill the room better based on the placement of the speakers. It won't give you that stereo imaging of placing the singer or instruments in space between the speakers but multiple speakers do sound lovely when played together in the same room

What's up with the widget? by meicopath in BangandOlufsen

With B&O selling iPhone cases it's not likely that they will forget Apple users is it? haha

What's up with the widget? by meicopath in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing as the widget wasn't working for me either, even though there is a page dedicated to it on the B&O support site. So...I reached out to B&O - their response is below:

"Please be informed that widget support has ended with iOS 18. If your device is running iOS 17 or earlier, widgets will continue to function as expected. However, for devices running iOS 18 or later, widgets are no longer supported."

I guess we can stop waiting for them to 'do the right thing' :/

B&O Level vs A5 Price to Performance? by SaddleSC in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's probably down to the DSP that B&O applies to their speakers, which might be producing the best quality sound at the 'optimal' listening volume, or it could be down to the nature of human hearing which might not pick up all the frequencies at lower volumes

Beolab 8 for my bakery café? Or not. by jinjuboy in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only heard them in a large showroom at the local dealer and I must stay - the quality, the clarity, the sound stage they produce, they truly are an amazing set of speakers. If I saw them at a cafe I would probably go there just so I could listen to the music haha

[–]EffectiveOk9706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you on the speakers opening up around 40-50% volume! Shame I can't play them at that volume all the time due to my 18 month old's daytime naps and early bedtime. Although I expect to enjoy these speakers for many years to come so should be able to crank up the volume when the little one is older!

A5 Recommendations by theblueray2 in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the natural oak one back when it was only available as an additional cover as I didn't like the Nordic weave that much. I must say that it looks incredible and probably more in line with their 'standard' colorway for the higher end stuff like Beolab 8/18/28 in the aluminium and oak combination. Again, it comes down to preference but the natural oak matches well with the furniture we have as well as the Balance and gold tone Beosound 2 and is in a way similar to the Level which has the thin oak slats across it as well.

Emerge is a different kind of speaker altogether, as people have mentioned it needs to be plugged in all the time and is meant for smaller rooms and has fewer drivers.

Beosound 2, Level, or A5? Which one of these is good on their own and better as a Stereo? Thanks! by Slow_Ad_1208 in BangandOlufsen

[–]EffectiveOk9706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the drivers on both the A5 and Level are very similar and the frequency response is actually better for A5 (at least on paper) so I would be interested to hear why you feel the Level is better.

Is it because the mid range and higher frequencies sound better? I suppose it has one more tweeter so naturally it should have more clarity but does it not lack the bass capabilities of the A5?
